I definitely give this one top marks for the TESOL training program Maximo Nivel offers online, despite the disappointing live teaching part.

The course is run, I think, by a company in South America, so I don’t want to sound like I’m generalizing, but everyone I was in contact with was just so friendly and so helpful.

The course definitely has an energy about it, so I kind of guess this is a recently established course.

I absolutely LOVED learning online. I read on some forums that Tesol courses are just like reading a book and that you might as well just buy a book instead. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

For one thing, it’s an interactive course and you get great feedback from a tutor online. And secondly, you don’t get a Tesol certificate by reading a book. Duh!

I passed the course with flying colors. It wasn’t that difficult as long as you prepare yourself for a few weeks of intense computer time.

You also get to “practice teaching” online, but I found this part was badly organized and took away the benefits of working at your own pace and when you want to.

The Maximo Nivel online Tesol course is a great option if you don’t want to take one of those dinosaur CELTA courses. I can teach anywhere now. Yay!
