Caitlyn did an amazing job as my online tutor. I had many questions and Caitlyn answered all of them. My course study went without a hitch and I graduated with a score of 98.6%. I finished the 120-hour course last week and wanted to write my review while the information was still fresh in my head.

I’m going to break down the key parts of the course and then write a short conclusion.

1. I paid for the course with my credit card, but you can also use a debit card or pay with PayPal.
2. After a few minutes, I received a few emails from TEFL Online Pro which contained my password and username to access my course. I was also issued a receipt for my purchase.
3. Between paying and receiving my login information, I had access to the course within just a few minutes.
4. About half an hour later, I received a personalized email from TEFL Online Pro, welcoming me to the course and introducing me to my online tutors who would be there for me if I had any questions.
5. The online tutor support turned out to be priceless because it was 24/7 support. I’m a bit of a night owl and had support from my tutors at any time of the day or night.
6. The course is segmented into 12 modules and there are two bonus modules at the end, so 14 in total. You get quizzed after each module so it meant no big test at the end.
7. The topics covered in the course are the same as the ones covered in the CELTA course, which means you cover all the essentials of teaching English. The two bonus modules were Teaching Young and Younger Learners and Teaching Business English.
8. I had to create two lesson plans, which were graded and sent back to me with notes on areas for improvement.
9. I completed the course in two weeks and within 24 hours I received the digital certificate and a letter of recommendation. There was the option to have a hardcopy certificate posted to me but I will be teaching online so figured the digital certificate would be all I need.
10. After this, I gained access to the TEFL Online Pro online and international job guidance team. They were as efficient and helpful as my 24/7 online tutors were.
11. I interviewed for a teaching job online yesterday and today I was formally accepted. I start teaching next Monday.

What stood out for me about this program was the fantastic customer support, and how much is covered in the course. I could easily see this course selling for two or three times the price because it is that good.

From a satisfied customer’s perspective, I highly recommend the TEFL Online Pro program.

It wasn’t easy deciding which online TEFL course to take because all the programs seem to offer the same type of courses and it’s hard to tell which ones are legit.

I chose the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL with TEFL Online Pro because it was a safe option (reviews+awards) and the price was in my Goldilocks zone. It’s accredited properly (unlike some other programs, whose accreditation is not legit) and the staff are super supportive so don’t worry if you’ve never taught before.

It’s a 14-module course with multiple-choice quizzes and two lesson plan coursework assignments. I was very nervous about creating my first lesson plan, but Paul reassured me and gave me the confidence to get the job done. For the second one, I found the structure of the course and the course content jelled perfectly and I aced the assignment.

The other benefits of TEFL Online Pro include a career service, and visa support. These are very important if you want professional help navigating the job market. We arranged a 30-minute Skype call and discussed the pros and cons of teaching online vs. somewhere overseas. I decided to get my feet wet by teaching online (Preply+VIPKid) and now a year on, I’m in Hanoi, teaching adults and kids and some business English students.

If you want to take a course that will challenge you, actually teach you how to teach, and help you find a job, this is the program.

Why I chose the TEFL Online Pro program.

My tutor was available to answer any questions or concerns that I had, as well as provide feedback on lesson plans and teaching materials. The tutor came across as highly experienced and qualified. My job assistance support person was also highly knowledgeable and was available around the clock to answer the many questions I had.
5. The back and forth with the school when I had a question was excellent. I got an almost instant reply every time.
6. The course is designed to be flexible, allowing students to complete it at their own pace. There are no strict deadlines or schedules, and I could study whenever I had time, making it ideal for me because I was working full time and had other commitments.
7. The course is divided into twelve modules, covering all aspects of teaching English as a foreign language, including grammar, phonology, lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching techniques. Each module is divided into several units, each of which consists of a detailed lesson plan, teaching materials, and interactive quizzes and exercises to help students understand and retain the information. The quizzes were fun to complete, and the feedback I received on my lesson plans was always motivating and just so helpful.

Cons:

While the TEFL Online Pro course is highly rated and offers many benefits, there are a few potential drawbacks to consider:

2. The online format of the course may not be suitable for everyone. Some individuals may prefer the face-to-face interaction and hands-on experience provided by in-person courses, and may find it difficult to stay motivated and engaged when studying online.

Overall, the 120-hour online TEFL course is a comprehensive and flexible option for anyone interested in pursuing a career in teaching English as a foreign language. The course provides a solid foundation for teaching, and this was noted when I began interviewing for jobs and when the questions I was asked were information I remembered from the course. As a result, I could answer all the interviewers’ questions and they were impressed with my TEFL knowledge.

I am traveling and teaching (online) and this seems to be the sweet spot for me.

If you want the experience of teaching in a classroom full of students, definitely teach in person. You might get lucky and work under a good manager, or you might not. You might also have to do a lot of non-paid work, such as marking homework and attending stupid school events that often make no sense. So there are pros and cons there too.

If you just want to travel and earn money as you nomad your way around the world, I would recommend teaching online. I teach for a few schools so I don’t have all my eggs in the same basket. For me, the pros far outweigh any cons of teaching online. I didn’t give up my job just to go work for someone else. Technically, I do work for the people who own the online schools I teach for, but they rarely bother me.

If I ever find a place where I want to settle, I will strongly consider teaching at a school. I’ll just be super choosy about the working conditions.

Until then, I am 100% satisfied with teaching English online from any place where I currently find myself.

I enjoyed taking the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course with TEFL Online Pro. Everything was straightforward to follow, and feedback on coursework assignments was very fast after I’d sent them in. By very fast, I mean just a few hours later. The same was true of replies to any emails or direct messages I sent to them. This quick turnaround of communication helped maintain the flow of the pace of study I was aiming to achieve. The content of the course was in-depth and at the same time easy to digest. The course covers many different areas of TEFL/TESOL, including teaching English to children and adults and teaching business English. There are also sections on how to teach English to physical and online students. Because of this, I would say the course is for people who want to teach at a school and for people who want to teach online.

I travel and teach English. I manage this lifestyle by teaching online. I could have gone overseas and stayed in one location but I just prefer being able to move around and earn money at the same time. TEFL Online Pro help you with your job search after the course. They don’t charge you anything for it and the help they gave me set me on the right path. It was important to get this support because it helped me avoid bad schools and apply for jobs at good ones. There are hundreds if not thousands, of online schools that you can teach for so you need some guidance when choosing which one(s) to apply for jobs.

I don’t have any bad comments about the program. If I had any, I would say. I am a very direct person. The TEFL Online Pro program was very good and I am fully satisfied with my new lifestyle.

I just want to start my review of MyTEFL by stating that I didn’t use their job placement services. So this review is limited to the course that I took, the 120-Hour TEFL certification course – which, I thought, was very good. Why did I think it was very good? It was convenient. I paid, studied the modules, took the module quizzes, received the certificate, and began teaching online. Really simple. There is a lot of online teaching work. It did take me a while to get my foot in the door but once you do (and if you are a decent enough teacher) you will soon find yourself inundated with new classes. It took me about a month and a half from sending off my first resume to being offered a job. One word of advice for the procrastinators out there is that you can’t email off your resume and then sit back and wait for the job offers to come flooding in. It’s a competitive market. Many people are looking for teaching jobs online. You have to be proactive like I was. I would keep sending my resume and I would always try and address the email to the HR manager or someone who was responsible for the company hiring. I’m pretty confident the schools receive a huge number of resumes every single day. You need to make it happen that your one is the one that is read, and addressing your email (or even cover letter) to the right person (or even to just the right school’s name) will be putting your best foot forward. So, yes, MyTEFL was a very good course. It won’t turn you into the best teacher ever, but it does the job of teaching you about all the main areas of what you need to know as a TEFL teacher. The only negative is that MyTEFL only helps you with your job search if you pay for their job placement services. I chose not to and I still found a job.
