I don’t often write reviews, but this made me do so. Amazing course, amazing tutor – TEFL Online Pro is worth every penny if you want to be educated in TEFL without stepping outside of your house.

I learned it in a relatively short period of time too. Seven days in total. If I had gone for an onsite course, would have taken a minimum of four weeks to be certified.

I know quite a lot of people have brought this up in previous reviews, but I just want to give you a solid example. Saturday night between 9-10pm. I accidentally pressed the Submit button on my test without completing all the fields. My bad entirely. Contacted support for help. Expected a response on Monday or Tuesday because Saturday isn’t a business day. WITHIN AN HOUR I had everything ironed out and I was onto the next module. I swear Paul never sleeps You contact them with email or inside the course in the message center.

My only niggle was the module on phonetics. It was the most difficult module and do teachers use phonetics in the classroom? I don’t know. Still, had to do it. I’m giving TEFL Online Pro a strong 9/10.

I believe TEFL Academy offers an advantage to those who are not able to stop working to study for the TEFL certificate. I certainly fell in this category. I wouldn’t have been able to take anywhere near the time off required to take an in-person TEFL course. For this reason, I decided to enroll in TEFL Academy. The course was with the help of an online tutor who was personally assigned to me. However, I must say the tutor, while they did offer some support, didn’t give very much feedback on my assignments. I definitely feel like the feedback could have been a lot better. Despite this negative, I really appreciated the format of the course. It is divided into many different sections and at the end of each you take a test (the tests were not too difficult) and then you are automatically given access to the next section. I had never done any teaching before per se, so it was all relatively new to me and extremely engaging. You have to pay more for the certificate so be prepared for this when you pass the course. I am pretty happy with the choice I made and hope to start teaching soon.

The Let’s TEFL 120-hour online course is a good option if (as in my case) you don’t have the option of taking four weeks out for the on-site certification training alternative. I was looking for a course I could study when I had time off from work and this version of the TEFL training fit well for me. The course is solid. I didn’t have any previous teaching experience of any kind whatsoever, so I was a little nervous when I signed up. I made sure to read the program’s website thoroughly, so I had a pretty good idea going into what to expect in the general sense, but I wasn’t certain just how involved and complex the information would get. This is the standout positive of the course. It starts off slow and easy and builds in difficulty and momentum. I personally liked this approach because if it had begun really difficult I don’t know whether I would have felt motivated enough to study on through to the end. I had to pay extra for the certificate and I thought the program could have been more active with help finding jobs and giving advice on which schools to avoid. Overall the course was great and I would probably recommend Let’s TEFL to others.
