When I was looking to take a TEFL/TESL certification course, I had in the forefront of my mind that I wanted to take a course that included a teaching practice component.

I researched the web for weeks until I eventually narrowed my search down to The International TEFL Academy (ITA) and TEFL Online Pro. The combined course offered through The International TEFL Academy was almost $1,000 more expensive and I naively thought that because the course price was so much more expensive, I would be receiving so much more out of the course and its related services.

So, I went for the ITA TEFL 200-hour course with twenty hours of teaching practice- divided into 180 hours of online study and twenty hours of teaching practice.

The 180 hours of online tuition were good. I’m not really sure how they calculate there being 180 hours covered because I completed this section of the course way sooner than that.

The ITA TEFL website offers in-class teaching practice locations around the globe. Prague was my first choice as I’d read so many positive reviews online about their partner there in the city: The Language House. And I was given a clear impression when I enrolled in the ITA TEFL course that I could choose to take the teaching practice segment in Prague if I so wished to.

At the last minute, they cancelled my accommodation and course in Prague. No real explanation except to refer to their T+C. In the end, as it turned out, I taught my twenty classes to online-based students. I still got something out of the experience, but I felt deceived by the whole process.

Therefore, according to my calculations, I paid approx. $1,300 (including the certification fee) to take the exact same course that teflonlinepro.com offers for just $549. I checked and the certification awarded by these two schools is identical.

If I could roll back time, I should have just enrolled in the TEFL Online Pro 140-hour Hybrid course instead. I also read that they offer better student and graduate support.

So while I was generally happy with my ITA TEFL experience, I can’t say I would recommend it at the current price they are offering it. It’s overpriced and just not worth taking when there are better, more affordable TEFL TESL program options offering the same or similar courses and services.

I ended up losing my job so had to quickly rethink what the hell I was going to do in terms of a steady income. A friend read an article about teaching English online and I was immediately all over it. What surprised me about TEFL was just how many different companies offer this certification. I didn’t have so much time to dig deep into what each was offering and I chose to enroll in the TEFL Online Pro 120hr course mainly because they have consistently positive feedback across the board. Also what you get for the course price was a better value compared with some of the other courses I looked at.

I’m so happy that I chose this program! From the moment I paid I had the support of an online tutor and with me never having studied TEFL before he was incredibly helpful and supportive. I’d message my tutor and he would respond within a few hours. Now that’s what I call great customer service.

The course is divided into 14 sections and each covers a different area of TEFL. I particularly found the chapters on grammar and phonetics interesting because these were areas where I needed the training the most. The lesson plan assignments were also so helpful because they created a context for the information taught in the course and with the super helpful feedback that I received after submitting them I came out at the other end of the course knowing how to develop lesson plans and what content is required for each student level. Oh, and the activities in the course were really fun and showed me that teaching can be a fun learning and fun teaching experience.

They issued my certificate the next day after I had completed the course and they also wrote me a pretty amazing letter of recommendation. Both the certificate and the letter were critical documents when I began the job interview process. It took a week for me to have my first firm job offer and another two came my way another week after that. The whole process of taking the course to teach English online start took three weeks. A week after that I was teaching full-time.

TEFL Online Pro was exceptional and this TEFL online certification has been so incredibly useful. I recommend this company to anyone starting in TEFL. 10 out of 10 for TEFL Online Pro.

This is possibly the most outstanding online class you will ever take. It is the best online course I have ever taken, and I have taken quite a few. I was able to finish this 120-hour Professional in twelve days because the materials are a fine balance between succinct and comprehensive and very engagingly presented.

Paul was my tutor throughout the course and must have a computer strapped to his body wherever he goes because all my questions were answered within a couple of hours. Feedback provided on the lesson planning assignments was constructive and encouraging. This guy makes you wish you could shake his hand and buy him a beer at the end of each assignment.

After completing the course, I asked the Tefl Online Pro office for help with finding work in Italy, and I also needed help tailoring my resume for English teaching. I must write that the support received was first class. I began teaching, here in Modena, six weeks later – impressive to say the least. I give this program 5 out of 5 stars: Excellent.

There is no question that TEFL Online Pro is an awesome TEFL company, and I see now why so many of their graduates consider them a 5-star company. First of all, the support is fabulous. Not only when I was deciding which course to take, but also during the course and after the course too. Every email I sent was answered in a matter of minutes, or (at most) in a matter of a few hours. Getting access to the course was straightforward to receive a password and username to access the course after you make your course purchase, and then you can access the course right away. I do agree with some of the reports that the first module is way too easy, but the remaining 13 were extremely well-presented modules that have been written and designed with the focus of not drowning you with TMI at once. I learned about tenses, phonetics, classroom management, and other topics presented in a user-friendly format each one ending in a fun multiple-choice quiz. I received my course certificate on the day I completed the course! This was just another way in which TEFL Online Pro excelled. Paul was my designated job guidance support person and his advice was incredibly useful. Really. If it weren’t for his help, it would have taken me far longer to begin teaching. I enrolled in the course on September 5th, completed the course on September 21st, received my certificate on September 21st, and began teaching on September 28th. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m just so pleased that I chose this course over the others I was thinking about taking instead. If I had to describe TEFL Online Pro in one word, it would be Exceptional. From start to finish, this was a very good study experience for me (my first course ever taken online) and I just want to write a short review as a thank you to TEFL Online Pro (and as information for people looking to take a TEFL course online) for helping me reach my goal.

It was difficult to decide on which course to take because there are so many of these courses online.

In the end, I narrowed my search down to The TEFL Academy and TEFL Online Pro.

I read some negative reviews about the former, so I went ahead and enrolled in the TEFL Online Pro 120-hour course.

From the get-go, I knew I had made the right choice.

I had a load of questions, which were all answered really quickly, and I never felt like I was being hurried to sign up and pay. I was in contact with Sarah, and she went out of her way to explain the TEFL job market and how TEFL Online Pro was going to help me with my job search after I had taken the course. This included help with my teaching resume and recommendations for which schools were the best ones to teach for. It turned out that Sarah was there to help me at the end of the course. She stood by her word and helped me with getting my resume prepared for job interviews, and she also sent me a list of fresh job leads. This support was essential because without it I a) wouldn’t have known where to look for jobs, and b) I wouldn’t have known which schools are recommended and which are not.

Paul was my tutor for my course, and he was also very helpful and very professional. I didn’t need that much help, but the questions I did have were answered quickly and informatively. The price of the course represents great value for money, and with the TEFL Online Pro certificate (and with the help I received) it has been possible for me to start out teaching English online. The quality of the tuition also got me off to a strong teaching start. I now understand why this school has all those 5-star reviews, and I’m so happy I chose the right company to take my international TEFL with.

What’s also good to know is that I can use the certificate worldwide if and when I want to teach abroad.

I recommend TEFL Online Pro because the course was very easy to follow and there was excellent support throughout, and also because I was able to find teaching work easily when it came time to make good use of the certificate.

I chose this program because of all the positive reviews they have. Winning the Teachers’ Choice Award also factored into my decision-making when I enrolled in the course. Another big plus for me was that the course was self-paced, so it was possible to complete the modules when I had the time to sit down and focus on the materials.

It took me two and a half weeks to complete the course (120 hour Professional) and that was working on it a few hours a day during the week and then much more intensively over the weekends. What I also liked was that I was able to begin the course when I wanted to and I had three months to complete it. I didn’t need the three months but it was reassuring to know that the time was there in case something cropped up and I needed to put it on hold for a while.

TEFL Online Pro was really on the ball the whole time- I always received very fast responses to any inquiries/questions, my certificate and recommendation letter were both delivered the same week as I finished the course, and I had lots of help with information on how and where to look for teaching work online.

Within three weeks of completing the course, I had my first firm job offer and now two months later I am having to turn down work because I have so many students. I can’t comment on other online TEFL/TESOL programs but I would be very surprised if they offer the same as TEFL Online Pro does for the same course price.

I enjoyed taking the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course with TEFL Online Pro. Everything was straightforward to follow, and feedback on coursework assignments was very fast after I’d sent them in. By very fast, I mean just a few hours later. The same was true of replies to any emails or direct messages I sent to them. This quick turnaround of communication helped maintain the flow of the pace of study I was aiming to achieve. The content of the course was in-depth and at the same time easy to digest. The course covers many different areas of TEFL/TESOL, including teaching English to children and adults and teaching business English. There are also sections on how to teach English to physical and online students. Because of this, I would say the course is for people who want to teach at a school and for people who want to teach online.

I travel and teach English. I manage this lifestyle by teaching online. I could have gone overseas and stayed in one location but I just prefer being able to move around and earn money at the same time. TEFL Online Pro help you with your job search after the course. They don’t charge you anything for it and the help they gave me set me on the right path. It was important to get this support because it helped me avoid bad schools and apply for jobs at good ones. There are hundreds if not thousands, of online schools that you can teach for so you need some guidance when choosing which one(s) to apply for jobs.

I don’t have any bad comments about the program. If I had any, I would say. I am a very direct person. The TEFL Online Pro program was very good and I am fully satisfied with my new lifestyle.

I passed the TEFL Online Pro 120-hour course in December. It took me 2 weeks to complete. TEFL Online Pro made the study process effortless by keeping me motivated with helpful reminders and timely feedback. This was great because I got the benefits of learning online while still feeling connected to the teacher. I was surprised when they asked me to resubmit my first lesson plan, but glad they did as it revealed a rigor to their grading process that I needed. The course purchase price was within my budget, though I think they could do more to help lower-income students. I requested financial aid but was told they don’t offer this. Still, the program was reasonable, the tutors were all expert, knowledgeable, and helpful. Many reviews of this program point to fast response times in communication and this was also my experience. I was accepted for a teaching online job based on my TEFL Online Pro certification. That alone should be enough to convince you of the quality of the program.

There were various things that I factored in when deciding whether to take a standard 120-hour or combined 140-hour course. The tipping point argument for me was that I wanted to have some teaching practice hours recorded on my TEFL/TESOL certificate.

Many programs are running 120-hour courses, but not so many (reputable) ones running the combined course where you study the methodology online and take teaching practice hours.

Eventually, I chose to take mine through the teflonlinepro.com program.

I was impressed with their customer reviews, but I’m not someone who is influenced entirely by reviews. I was more impressed with the curriculum they offer with this course, and the price was the cheapest around when compared with other TEFL/TESOL companies offering the same course.

What I also liked in particular about this program was that I had options when it came to the teaching part. I could either teach the classes online or in person. If I chose to teach in-person students then those students could be friends, family, high school or college students, or anyone from the local community. My Dad offered that I could come to teach some of his colleagues where he worked and this worked out conveniently for me.

It’s mandatory to teach 20 classes and your students have to fill out a Student Peer Teaching form, where they give opinions of your teaching based on boxes they need to tick on the form.

It’s also mandatory to hand over six of your lesson plans to TEFL Online Pro and they then grade them and you are all done.

The 120-hour part of the course took me two weeks to complete.

The teaching practice was the same.

I think I paid $499 for the course and when I compare this with programs charging double, triple, or even quadruple that amount, it’s no wonder this TEFL Online Pro course is so popular. Especially seeing that the certificate makes no mention of online study and looks the same as one of those in-class 4-week TEFL/TESOL course certificates.

TEFL Online Pro also helps you find work. They don’t provide job placement, but they will support you in your job hunt. I was advised not to accept a job placement because there is usually something shady going on behind the scenes with those programs, like skimming money off your salary, etc.

It took a month between finishing my final class and receiving my certificate and starting to receive job offers from schools around the world. For the time being, I’m focused on my online teaching, and then, who knows? South America, Europe, Asia? The world is now literally my oyster.

I just got all done with finishing the TEFL Online Pro 140 hours Hybrid course and thought I would briefly share some of my main takes on this combined course program.

For starters, the total price of this course was far more reasonable than similar ones I had seen advertised online, and as far as I can tell this one is no different from those others. I paid in total $499 (with the $50 discount running at the time) and this was the final total. The price included all the training and the certification. Also included in the course were a recommendation letter, 24-hour-a-day online tutor support, and helpful support in finding teaching jobs online.

Because of the whole Covid situation, it wasn’t possible to teach the 20 hours physically in person. this didn’t matter though because I taught all 20 hours to students online and this worked out better for me anyway because I’m going to be teaching online. Perhaps later on I’ll teach abroad. At least I know that both options are possible when international borders begin opening up.

I tried thinking about whether there was anything I didn’t like about the Hybrid course, or TEFL Online Pro, but I honestly just couldn’t think of anything negative to write. For what you get for the price, and for what you can do with this certification, I just have to give TEFL Online Pro 5 stars.

I have just completed the TEFL Online Pro 120-hour course online, and this is my review.

As you can probably guess from my maximum awarded 5 stars, I am a big fan of the course

My decision to study with TEFL Online Pro was based on weeks of research, where I began with a list of 20 TEFL courses, narrowed the list down to my top 5, and then committed to the TEFL Online Pro Professional course online. My main reason for this final decision was the consistent positive student reviews (alumni love the program) and also the reasonable price because the course also offers Teaching Business English and Teaching Young Learners modules in addition to the standard TEFL syllabus offered by so many other TEFL programs. The tipping point for me was the reviews. Past students love the program and I considered it the best deal around when compared to other courses I had on my shortlist of potential candidates.

When I enrolled, I received 3 emails.

1. Receipt of course purchase.
2. My username and password.
3. A personalized welcome email.

The full (Professional 120-Hour) course price is $299, but TOP was offering a $ 50-course discount at the time, so the complete course fee for me was just $249. In hindsight, this was worth every last cent.

Why was it worth every last cent?

1. I had an AMAZING tutor who helped me out along the way.
2. As soon as I opened the first module I saw this was a serious course and not just an automatic pass TEFL mill.
3. Feedback on my lesson plans was encouraging and reinforced the general sense that I wasn’t left without guidance. Having quick feedback on assignments and course content questions helped me develop my teaching knowledge during the course. Had I not had access to an online tutor, I wouldn’t have known whether I was headed in the right direction.
4. I was sent my certificate on the day I completed the final module. No waiting around for weeks for the certificate (as I have read happens with quite a few other TEFL schools).
5. Support was there when I needed help and advice with a job hunt. Paul and Susan were instrumental in helping me find teaching work online, and the recommendation letter they issued me boosted my teaching resume and helped me appear more credible to employers.
6. I wasn’t nickel and dimed (as I have also read happens with quite a few other TEFL schools). My course fee paid was the only payment I made and for $249 I have to write that I am impressed with the value for money aspect of this course.

Is there anything I would change about the course?

I can’t think of anything from the top of my head. All the positive reviews I read about this school have also been my overall experience of TEFL Online Pro and I feel fortunate that I made the right TEFL course decision.

If you are considering a TEFL course and are not quite sure which one to take, you can’t go wrong with TEFL Online Pro.

When you finally decide on a course to take, you can never be certain if what was advertised will be what is delivered once you’ve made your payment and there’s no going back. I was hesitant because I didn’t want to pay only to find I’d been scammed. I read online there were TEFL scams so I guess I was overly paranoid. Reading the TEFL Online Pro reviews here and on other websites relaxed my anxieties and in the end, I just went for it. I paid with my credit card and literally in a matter of a minute, my payment went through, I was emailed a payment receipt, I got an email with my password and username to access the login course area, and about half an hour later I received a personalized Welcome To The Course email from the TEFL Online Pro office. Not many companies these days react so quickly once a payment goes through and has been received. I was impressed.

The TEFL Online Pro course is super practical and easy to follow. I chose the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course because I hadn’t taught before and because this seemed to be the requirement of most of the job offers I’d seen advertised. The course setup is also a lot of fun because to progress to the next stage of the course, you need to complete a multiple-choice quiz after each module and I thought this was a clever way to test knowledge. Plus, two lesson plans need to be submitted and you then receive constructive feedback on how you did. My first lesson plan was rejected in its first submission, Sue told me where I went wrong and what she would recommend I do to improve it, and I resubmitted it for the second time, It was accepted and I appreciated the in-detail feedback because it would have been easier for her to just pass me but by pushing me to work properly on it I overcame my laziness and then was able to submit a second lesson plan towards the end of the course which was awarded a top grade.

When you complete the course you receive your certificate and a letter of recommendation a few days after. I was pleasantly surprised there was no extra charge for this because I’d read other schools are charging ridiculous amounts for the certificate as unscrupulous hidden fees. My certificate looks amazing! I’ve got the hard-copy version framed on my living room wall and the electronic version has been perfectly fine for applying for jobs.

You won’t find it difficult to find work with this certification. I graduated from TEFL Online Pro in August 2019 and by the beginning of September, I was having to turn down offers because so many were coming my way.

So the answer to the question, is TEFL Online Pro legit? is a most definite Yes!
