This Bridge TEFL course is one of the most comprehensive and user-friendly course offerings I have ever taken. I teach Business English online to professionals and managers with multinational corporations around the globe. I am happy with my job, but I felt it was time to branch out into other areas of ESL teaching. The problem was that I hadn’t bothered to take a TEFL course before so when I began applying for General English teaching jobs online, I fell short in every interview because I hadn’t the international TEFL qualification. This was despite having taught Business English to non-native speakers for five years. Bridge TEFL is based relatively close to me and it was a no-brainer to take their TEFL course. The course is one of those studies at your own place setups, which suited me perfectly. I was impressed with the subjects covered in the course and equally impressed at how quickly they got back to me when I had a question, or after submitting a course assignment. It feels great to finally be TEFL qualified and not be automatically shot down in interviews because of my lack of TEFL certification. I’ve had a few (virtual) interviews so far and the initial feedback has been great. I’m hoping to relocate overseas whilst still maintaining some of my online student classes. My advice to anyone who is teaching but without the TEFL is to bite the bullet and take a TEFL course. It will open many more doors for you and it has also given me greater confidence when I am teaching my current online students. Thank you!

The outstanding feature of this course was how it clearly explained grammar. I grew up having English as my mother tongue and thought I would know everything about grammar before taking the TEFL course. After the first few modules, I realized that my grammar knowledge had many holes in it and I put this down to schools not addressing grammar that intensively in our school system. As an example, I had no idea what Present Perfect or Past Perfect was and I certainly had no idea how to explain the differences between these grammar points to another person. This course showed me that by using things like timelines I can explain the differences and also once you do start reading about grammar it honestly does become more and more interesting. The course also covered Phonetics and this topic was one of my favorites. I also learned how to create lesson plans and learned how to condense my teaching material down to 45/60/90 minutes. If I hadn’t taken the TEFL, if I had just decided to wing it without the qualification, I doubt I would have lasted that long before my students began calling me out on my lack of knowledge and inability to teach. The course is short (1 month) but is a fantastic starter course for TEFL teaching.

While the online experience was good because the online class tutors will take the time to ensure everything is running smoothly regarding the coursework and help with assignments, the school’s general admin support is a bit laggy. Questions about help with writing my resume and help with finding a teaching job online went unanswered, and I didn’t feel I received the promised support from Bridge TEFL. I understand I can search for jobs online by myself, but I could have done with having some guidance – at least because I’m still not sure which schools are worth teaching for and how much a good hourly rate for offering English classes online is. If I had received this support, I would have recommended the program to others. On the other hand, I do feel that I received valuable training and the course was great for someone like me who had no teaching experience at the time. I don’t think it is possible to teach everything you need to know about teaching English in such a short time but Bridge TEFL covered the bases and I know that the information I covered in the course will be relevant when I begin teaching. I have managed to pick up some teaching hours and I am beginning to plan for a trip overseas to teach. All this, though, has taken considerable time and effort without the promised help. I think this course would suit someone who just needs the training and who doesn’t depend on much support from the school.

I took the Bridge TEFL course recently, and while it was okay overall, I don’t think it was worth the high price. The content was solid and covered the basics of teaching English, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. For the amount I paid, I expected more in terms of depth, support, or added value.

It felt like you’re mostly paying for the brand name rather than a premium experience. There are other TEFL courses out there that offer similar quality for a much lower cost. If price isn’t an issue for you, it might be a fine choice. But for most people, I’d recommend comparing a few more options first.

Here is an honest and fair assessment of my time at Bridge in its online, TESOL program. First and foremost, let’s discuss ACCREDITATION. Yes, it is internationally accredited, and No it is not nationally accredited, so while you can find work with the certification overseas it isn’t possible to use the certification within the U.S. TUTORS. There are no professors that teach classes per se. They can be more accurately described as “facilitators” or “moderators”. They don’t grade assignments stringently. When I had a question or needed assistance, it would be hit-or-miss when it came to getting a response from them – depends on the day. For example, I was having technical difficulty submitting an assignment. So, I emailed the tutor to ask for help resolving the technical issue. I was able to submit the assignment the next day by resubmitting my work in a different file type; but, I never received a response from the tutor. As far as the tutor’s abilities, they did possess the appropriate knowledge that you would think a TESOL tutor should have. STAFF SUPPORT. I believe that the staff was friendly and helpful, and I don’t have anything negative to say. I always received great customer service when I called Bridge. COURSE DIFFICULTY. It’s not difficult at all. I believe most people could easily pass the courses. It was almost too easy, but for me, it was a relief since I was working a full-time job at the time and I wouldn’t have been able to maintain a too-demanding course and have to work 10-hour shifts. COURSE COST. Bridge TEFL is cheaper than taking the TESOL in an in-person program but is on the high end of the cost compared with other online programs. I can’t know if the extra cost is worth it because I can’t compare. JOB PROSPECTS. What I have to say about this is theoretical since I haven’t begun a job search yet. My current work contract runs up until July 2026 and then I will take a look at teaching overseas employment options. I read somewhere that Bridge help with this so I will contact them when I am ready to begin a search. BRIDGE RECOMMENDATION. I would recommend the Bridge TESOL program to people looking to add to their resumes and teach English overseas. If money is an issue, I would recommend looking into a less expensive program.

I must admit that despite mostly enjoying what I learned, I did struggle quite a bit with this course. It works on the Moodle platform. Moodle is an open-source learner management platform, and I had heard of them before taking my Bridge TEFL course. The problem I found with Moodle, was the inflexible nature of the platform. Unlike many TEFL courses that you can take online, Moodle has exact start and completion dates that you must follow, or else you won’t complete the course within the designated time window. I also found it incredibly complicated to navigate in the first few days as it is basically a very complicated system to suddenly get used to and there’s a lot of information to take in within a short period of time. Having said that, the content of the course was on a very high level. What I also liked was how you could communicate not only with the course teacher but also with other students who were taking the course at the same time. Bridge TEFL is one of the most well-known TEFL companies in North America, and I would recommend taking the TEFL with them. I’ve used the certificate numerous times and it is, therefore, a good investment for a TEFL teaching career. I would just question the need to overcomplicate the learning process when I’m sure there are much more straightforward learning systems out there that Bridge TEFL could adopt instead.

I’ve just completed the 120-hour Bridge TEFL (online) and it took me about 20 hours to get it done and dusted. So I wouldn’t describe this course as being 120 hours. It’s very light on content but will be enough to show someone you’ve taken a 120-hour TEFL course. Be prepared that it won’t teach you much though. There were a couple of things I took from the course that I know will be useful when I’m teaching, but I felt that most of the course was just filler material. It wasn’t cheap either! I’ll give it three stars because I did learn something and I doubt I’ll have any issues (I hope) using the certificate for online jobs. You pay for the Bridge TEFL brand name when you do your TEFL with them. This is my take from my experience with this company.

Bridge TEFL Master Certificate review. I’m going to have to give Bridge TEFL a mixed review.

The benefits of the course: very good quality course content | online teachers were quick to respond to questions | the company is based in Colorado and the certificate therefore should be recognized in the US | feedback on assignments was swift and helpful | the certificate is professional looking | some job support is provided when you have completed the course.

Things I wasn’t happy about: the course is run on the Moodle platform and there is a steep learning curve to it, that happens right at the start of the course | the course scheduling is rigid with set study hours and it’s not possible to study when you feel like it | I thought the cost of the hard copy certificate was excessive.

Overall, I can attest that this is a top-quality course but with a few significant drawbacks.

Since taking the course I’ve compared what Bridge offers with some medium-priced programs offering the same amount of TEFL hours and I can’t see any real differences in what either offer.

You pay for the Bridge TEFL brand name and that may be something that some people are willing to sign up for, but if I were to have the choice again I would choose a cheaper 120-Hour TEFL course program and one with more scheduling flexibility.

I know that it will be possible to use the Bridge TEFL certification for jobs – online and abroad – but I don’t think it is necessarily the best value-for-money TEFL program.

There is a deadline to complete the course, but within that time I could access the course and study when I wanted. It’s full of information and there is always someone on the other end to provide a professional evaluation of the coursework. It teaches you which are the main learner levels and how to teach each of the learner levels. Bridge TEFL does this by incorporating grammar knowledge with teaching delivery skills. You don’t get to teach real students as it’s a fully online course, but you do learn how to effectively plan lessons and so I think it’s worth saving the money and taking a course without a teaching practicum. Anyway, from what I’ve found out, most of the in-person TEFL programs that do have you teach live classes with real students mostly just get you to teach other TEFL students in the course and TEFL teaching is just something you pick up along on the way as you teach more and more classes with real paying students. What I also liked was the support of the community of teachers who take the course at the same time as you do. It felt reassuring that I could reach out to other TEFL students in the program and discuss some of the more difficult parts of the course. If I had to list any cons it would be that I think the price of the course should be more affordable and the course could have gone on for less time. Other than that, this is a very good program that prepares you to teach English to all age groups and in many different settings.

Transitioning from being an IT worker to being a TEFL teacher wasn’t nearly as difficult as I’d imagined it would be. Fortunately, it was possible to take the TEFL course while I was still working at my full-time job. This meant I wasn’t forced to quit my job to primarily focus on the course, providing me with financial and job security as I made the transition. As a prior IT worker, I did notice a few bugs in the programming of the course, but I was also highly impressed with how the course materials were presented. The course was clearly designed by people who know their subject matter. I mainly studied in the early mornings and late evenings, as well as over the weekends. Basically, whenever I could fit it into my working schedule. I have been unimpressed with the working wage of teaching online so far (not the fault of Bridge) but on the other hand, I’ve read that it is usual to begin on the bottom rung of the pay scale ladder and won’t take too long before my earning potential increases. I think these online schools get a lot of applications and the employee turnover is high, so they wait a while to see if you are a stayer or someone who is just in it for the short term. No complaints I can think of about the Bridge program other than I think the price of the course could be priced a bit lower. I’m now teaching English from home and wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this without taking the TEFL course.

There were some things that I liked about the Bridge TEFL course and some things I didn’t like.

Overall, I’m afraid I have to conclude that Bridge TEFL wasn’t worth the money. At least for me.

What I did like about the Bridge TEFL course:

1. It was full of good ideas for classroom activities.
2. The tutor’s support was really good.
3. The certificate looks professional.
4. I had some help in finding a teaching placement.

What I didn’t like about the Bridge TEFL course:

1. The fixed start and end dates were very restrictive. I couldn’t just study as I pleased.
2. The course fee is a lot higher than other comparable courses.
3. The certification fee was an unexpected additional expense upon completing the course.

Others have also complained about the fixed start and end dates of the course. The issue I had with this was that I continually felt under pressure to keep up and had to submit coursework on an exact day and by the deadline time for that day. If you have a whole free month free then this shouldn’t be an issue for you, but if you have some things to do, like work, it can quickly turn into a bit of a nightmare because if you don’t submit coursework in time the school will fail you and then you’ve lost your course place.

It’s a bit rich Bridge TEFL terming their 120-hour Online TEFL/TESOL study course ‘Master’ because clearly to me and my work colleagues, it covers the same materials as other TEFL courses do over 120 hours. That’s not to say it isn’t a good course though, but I don’t think it’s worth $391 when other courses covering the same amount of hours and the same content charge less than this. I also wasn’t ready for the hidden certification fee. When I brought this up with the Bridge TEFL staff, they just repeated their request for the certification fee. A good course. Extra costs make this an expensive TEFL.

After completing my college education at CU Boulder I furthered my education with the online TEFL certification course through Bridge. The application process was easy and in light of my fresh college graduate status, I was accepted into the program without having to complete further steps. The online classes were easy to access and navigate and the curriculum was very informative. I liked the interactive lesson plan sections which helped me track my progress and helped me get a better perspective on my teaching skills as I progressed. The cost was not bad at all compared to other schools in my area which offer these classes in person. The tutors were good at touching base with me during my studies and any technical difficulties were promptly tended to. Overall I enjoyed my online TEFL experience with Bridge. The staff was always available when I had questions or concerns and the curriculum was professional and practical. I strongly recommend Bridge as a place to further your education and get that all-important TEFL qualification.

I was pretty satisfied with this distance-learning teaching English course despite initially having concerns about taking it online as opposed to taking it in class. I guess it’s optimal to take any education study onsite but you won’t miss out on so much if you do take it online. One of the things with the Bridge course which stood out for me was how organized everything was. You have a start date and a projected completion date and in between, there is a course tutor to manage your time and access to each of the lessons. The ability to interact with other students was also a good aspect of the course. It did take a while to receive the certificate but I put this down to how busy my course date was. I’ve used the certificate for job interviews and haven’t run up against any brick walls so far. My only complaint is the course fee. It’s too high. Reduce the tuition fee and then I think Bridge will have one of the best TESOL courses around.
