I completed a 150-hour TESOL course with Global English last year and was very satisfied with the course, communication with the school, and the end result.

It wasn’t an easy course by any stretch of the imagination, but I didn’t want to take a TEFL mill course so this was an excellent choice for me. I really felt it provided me with enough information needed to start teaching English, despite my decision not to pay additionally for teaching practice hours.

The support is there for you when you study and when you are complete and ready to begin your job search.

I can recommend Global English TESOL.

Not the best of courses. Not the worst either. It was a little light on content and I found the quiz questions sometimes bordered between ridiculously easy and irrelevant, but the price was good at the time. Whenever I had a question I knew it would be a while before they got back to me. You pay extra for the certificate ($100 with courier) and little help after the course. Have taught with the certificate. No problems when asked to show it. I do understand the delays in getting back to me. They were obviously very busy at their peak time of the year.

30 hour TEFL course. I have just completed Global English’s 30-hour Introduction to Teaching English Phonetics course and can thoroughly recommend it! Before I did this course, the intricacies of phonetics and pronunciation had always been a substantial gap in my knowledge as an ESL teacher but I now feel more than confident and prepared to teach them to my students here in northwestern France. For me, the real strength of the Global English course was twofold. Firstly, it identified and taught me the salient areas required to teach phonetics and pronunciation effectively, while also suggesting a wealth of material for further research. Secondly, it provided me with excellent, comprehensive support from a tutor who was highly responsive to my questions and needs. I will certainly be returning to Global English at some point soon!

I have been doing courses with Global English since 2014. All their courses are well structured with great interactive material. There is great tutor support and the assignments will help you to prepare your lesson plans for the future. Also, the links that they provide you are invaluable and I am using them for online teaching. I originally completed the advanced Tesol course whilst working full-time. I have recently completed the Online English teaching course which is a must if you want to teach English online. The information and tips provided are invaluable. I would highly recommend the spotlight courses as well. These are short courses on a range of subjects from teaching mixed ability classes to teaching beginners and also the Zoom spotlight course which teaches you how to use Zoom whilst teaching online. The spotlight courses also provide an excellent practical session with the tutor and other students. I can highly recommend Global English as the best TEFL provider and I hope to do other courses with them in the future.

150 TESOL Premier Plus course Global English review, submitted by Caitlin.

My motivation for taking this course was to prepare myself better for when I start teaching children in China next year. I assumed it would just be ok to have a degree in Education, but apparently, that’s not enough for the school which I’ve signed a teaching contract with and they insisted I take a TESOL course. They didn’t stipulate whether it had to be taken at a school somewhere, so I went for the much cheaper online option.

I liked the course. I do have some teaching experience from when I volunteered in Cambodia, so I did have a general awareness of how to teach and what should be taught before taking this course. There was a lot I didn’t know of course, and this was mostly covered within the 150 TESOL Premier Plus course syllabus.

I know it’s not the fault in any way of Global English, and not the fault of the school which I will be reaching for, but I really didn’t see the necessity of taking a TEFL course when I have a 3-year degree and when I have teaching experience. I guess their logic is that they want their teachers to be knowledgeable in TEFL teaching, but a 4-week TESOL course can’t possibly prepare you for teaching as much as a 3-year degree does. Oh well, never mind. Perhaps it’s because of the work permit or visa which is why it’s required.

Anyways, this course was without any major issues and I got what I needed out of it.

Global English TESOL 120-hour online course review.

Really quite disappointed by the course and support.

The course is meant to cover 120 hours of tuition (all taken online) but I was able to complete it all in under a week. And that was done by just studying for a few hours each day during the week and then on a full day on Saturday. It’s nowhere near the advertised 120 hours. The content was often vague and whilst it did cover everything I imagine a new teacher needs to learn, in terms of theory, it delivered shortly on covering practical elements of teaching. I don’t know if their 250 hours online TESOL course goes into more detail but if it’s anything like their 120-hour product then I’d advise giving this one a miss.

My course certificate was delivered approximately 3 weeks after I’d completed the final module and I was happy with this. But after you have completed the course, don’t expect to hear back from Global English when you write to them asking for help finding a job.

I took the Global English 150-hour TESOL Premier Plus course last summer and thought it was an ok study experience. Not sure really why anyone would give them 5 stars but I do think they offer a pretty decent product minus a few flaws. I found the lessons to be a bit tough getting through as this is a mostly text-based reading course and I felt there were a lot of filler materials that weren’t really that relevant and just added to make it seem like the course was full of information. The tutor support is very good but the good communication ends abruptly when the course is complete. I definitely could have done with more support after the course and currently am still looking for teaching work.

My Global English Online TEFL Review.

I came across this site while Google searching in between classes and thought I’d add my 2 cents worth.

Took this course way back in 2016 and I can’t express how much it helped me to set myself up here in Germany.

I LOVE teaching English and Global English made a dream become a reality.

I still occasionally contact their admin for teaching advice and they always get back to me within a few days.

I haven’t looked back since deciding to teach English overseas and neither should you!
