For the most part, I enjoyed online learning with this program. I have recommended CIEE TEFL to others. My tutors were engaging and interactive. They gave valuable feedback on lesson preparation and on how to manage students in a classroom and were willing to go out of their way to help increase understanding. The part I had the most difficult time with was the grammar section. It took me repeated attempts to fully understand the nuanced differences between the various time tenses and I’m still finding it difficult to explain these to students. The students I teach don’t have Perfect tense structures in their language, so it’s tough going trying to explain to them when and why they should use the Present Perfect instead of the Past Simple. This isn’t being critical of the program. They just don’t teach us this in school, so it’s made much more difficult when we are required to teach our mother tongue All of this taken into account, for the most part, I enjoyed the course.
