For a city with over 10 million inhabitants, there is a severe shortage of TEFL institutes. The institute that kept coming up in my searches was the Vantage TEFL Institute. When I contacted their office, they were helpful, and what I liked was the option of studying part of the course online, with the other part of teaching practice taking place at their Bangkok premises. This meant taking the course was a much more viable option as I could minimize the time I would need to put aside at an onsite location. The trainers and office staff at the school were helpful and friendly. It was an absolute pleasure making the trip to the center when my classes were scheduled. It was also easy to find a teaching position (within a week or so after I had finished the course) because the demand for teachers in the city was high. If you do not have the TEFL yet and want to teach in Bangkok, I advise taking this course.
