I liked the pace of this course. They don’t rush you; meaning you have a good few months to get everything done. I needed a full three months because I was also working a full-time job at the time, so I was only able to manage work on the course on some evenings during the week and then whole days on Saturdays and Sundays. I haven’t had the opportunity to use the certification yet because I have yet to complete my work contract, but when I do, I plan to travel to Vietnam to work where I’ve read good money is to be made teaching English.

I was requested to take a TEFL course before my future (now current) employer would even consider me for a job interview. I teach in Thailand. I really thought it was still possible to teach without the certificate (I am a native English speaker) but it seems like schools are much more strict now when it comes to insisting that people have the TEFL certification. I later found out that it is because most countries now require English teachers to have the TEFL certificate for a work visa. I have actually met a handful of teachers who are teaching without the TEFL, but they also teach illegally and can be thrown out of the country at a moment’s notice. It happened to one guy. He left for a weekend visa run to Malaysia and wasn’t allowed back into the country when he returned through Suvarnabhumi. TEFL courses are pretty reasonably priced so I just don’t understand the logic of not wanting to get the certification and instead rolling the dice on being able to stay in the country.

I thought the INTESOL course was OK. A lot of what was taught I already knew, but I did find some of the activities interesting and useful for my one-on-one classes. INTESOL only provides the course tuition though, so if you also need job support and tutor help when you are taking the course then this might not be the right one for you. Still, when it comes to the nitty-gritty of providing TEFL tuition I would say INTESOL does a decent enough job.

This was a quick, no-hassle way for me to get a hold of the TEFL certificate – the certification required by most employers if you want to teach English. I still haven’t worked out what the difference is between TEFL and TESOL. I’m guessing they are the same terms for the same certification? The certificate you get through the INTESOL program is the TEFL certificate. INTESOL does claim that their Level 5 Tefl course is “Celta equivalent” but when I looked further into it I saw this isn’t the case. Still, though, it’s a good course and the online teaching practice was a really helpful component of the course. I did pretty well on the course – finishing with one of the top grades – and I put this down to the quality of the instruction, as well as the decision I made to work as hard as I could on it. My certificate was delivered a month after I had completed the course – INTESOL certificates are sent out from India, so it can take a while for the delivery – and I haven’t had any issues using the certificate for my online teaching work. There is a lot of teaching work online around, but I do wish I had had more help to sift through the many, many schools offering online teaching work. Never mind though because I have been able to find work, teaching English online, and I’m looking forward to traveling overseas to teach. I’m giving INTESOL three stars. This is a good program.

Choosing this online TEFL course was a no-brainer really. Further down the road, I want to teach English in Japan and INTESOL has a brick-and-mortar school there so it was a perfect square shape in a square hole. I have taken online courses before and considered the ones which I had taken as being over-priced cons: they were never difficult to complete, were always very light on content, and left you feeling no more educated when finished. INTESOL Worldwide’s international online course on the other hand is the exact opposite of my prior experiences. The course is demanding, yet easy to follow. The course content is motivating and at the end of the course, I felt satisfied and confident. If I only had one niggle then it would be the silly pricing that they have on their school website. The course is described as usually costing £345.00 but I paid £175.00. Yep, the course is always 175. Other than this though, everything went smoothly and I can’t wait to start my teaching English abroad career over in Japan!

Even though INTESOL Worldwide shows its headquarters as being in central London, they in fact have their headquarters in Delhi, India. And this worked well for me because as a Delhi local born and bred, it was possible to arrange for a meeting at their building where I could pay in cash for the TEFL course they have on offer. This was also important for me so when there were any kinks in the armor, I would know where to go to complain. As it transpired, there was no need to complain. Everything went swimmingly well and I completed the course with an above-average grade. If you don’t know, India is going through a terrible time in relation to Covid-19 infections and it is a true catastrophe for my country. I have, therefore, put on ice any plans to travel abroad for an English teaching position. I was satisfied with the INTESOL Worldwide product and with the way they approach the customer. I believe that having the TEFL qualification will help me in my future career. My plan is to teach somewhere in Europe. Preferably in one of the Western European countries. INTESOL Worldwide has assured me that this won’t be a problem and I believe what they say. I will wait until when I start applying for job positions in Europe and then I will recommend this school if the school’s assurances turn out to be a reflection of the truth. So far, so good.

I thought the 220-hour course was excellent. If I was confused by something I just asked whatever it was that I needed to know and I always got an answer. This was appreciated because otherwise I would have run into difficulties and might even have failed the course without the support that was there for me. I honestly liked everything in the course. Before I started I took the advice to buy a grammar book because I was aware that the course would be covering a lot of grammar and that it can get very complex. I purchased the Practical English Usage grammar book, written by David Swan. What I like about this book is that he explains the grammar and also provides diagrams and examples to go with each grammar theme. It’s such a handy resource to have on hand when a student asks you a difficult grammar question. It’s also good for explaining everyday grammar too. So in conclusion I recommend taking the TEFL qualification through Intesol Worldwide. It’s affordable, there is support on hand if you need it, the course is very thorough, and it wasn’t difficult getting a job after.

I thought the online teacher training (TEFL India) course with INTESOL Worldwide lived up to most of my expectations in regard to what was advertised and what I received.

Just two areas of concern which I had were that the content of the course could have been delivered in a more user-friendly way (I couldn’t study on my iPhone or iPad) and I was expecting more in the way of job information for international teaching positions.

I was a little confused about where exactly INTESOL Worldwide operates. I think the school operates out of India (the UK also?) and they have franchises in other places around the world. All correspondences though were provided by native speakers (or non-natives with excellent English language skills) so this was a positive, and when I needed to contact the school they responded within a reasonable amount of time. Even if it took a few days to get an email back the response addressed my question(s).

On a further positive note, I thought the content of the course was very informative and it most definitely introduced me to new teaching ideas and concepts. I’ve taught before so I wasn’t a complete newbie going into the course. The course seems to favor the Communicative method too, which is my preferred way of teaching. And despite it taking me a bit of time to eventually locate a full-time job with a school, I did find work with this certification and this was one of the reasons why I took the course in the first place.

At the time when I took this course, it was one of the only Online CELTA equivalent courses being advertised online. I see that since then, more and more Online TEFL/TESOL programs are now offering combined online/onsite distance learning classes. I opted for the 220-hour course because I felt I needed as much information as I could possibly receive on TEFL/TESOL in order to be able to fully function as an Esl teacher; given that I had no experience in Esl previous to enrolling.

The course was excellent. It’s well structured and doesn’t overcomplicate the subject matter. You start off slow and gradually come up against increasingly difficult learning tasks. I’ve since compared this course with other similar course offers and have identified that one of the benefits of this INTESOL Worldwide course is the 30 hours TEYL course (Teaching English to Young Learners) and TBE (Teaching Business English) training course; whereas most other courses either omit these altogether or only slightly brush over the topics. Having the additional TEYL experience listed on my course certificate has proven valuable for me in my teaching English to children career path.

Regarding the teaching practice hours, I taught some of my friends and only needed to submit my videos to INTESOL via email files. This was super convenient and the feedback that I received was super useful. I liked how you could teach friends or family, as well as real students I guess because it made completing the teaching practice hours segment a nice and smooth transition period between the completion of the online study work and the receiving of the course certificate.

I had a really positive experience with INTESOL Worldwide and recommend this Tefl/Tesol program.

This has been one colossal, unacceptable hassle and waste.

the material and assignments are the exact same between the courses. INTESOL further didn’t tell me about all the extra equipment I would need for the teaching practice. So, I ordered everything late, in the midst of this pandemic, and experienced huge mailing delays. Everything took weeks to arrive and none of it was covered in my fees.

In the meantime, I did all the affiliated school’s extra (surprise) training and fulfilled all their other high standards despite not being warned, an employee, nor destined to be paid for my two weeks’ worth of free work for them. I even had to print up a giant poster piece by piece and line it up perfectly, wait and wait to get ultimately useless help with their buggy programs, etc.

I offered to accept the certificate without the teaching practice for a partial refund, even though I wouldn’t have attempted an upgrade at all if I knew that the teaching practice wouldn’t be included. Once again, I have gone ignored. I’ve had enough. This isn’t worth the effort and hasn’t been such for a long time.

The Intesol Teaching Business English Advanced Certificate course was the perfect fit for me. With absolutely no desire to teach kids, I wanted to certify myself to teach adults. Specifically Business English to adults.

This course was right on the nose. It does still cover some of the basic grammar requirements, but its main focus is on teaching different types of Business English topics and teaching in different types of classroom scenarios – 1-to-1, group, and online.

If you are looking to specifically focus on teaching Business English to adults, this course will train you to do just that. They also offer an Apostille Service, if your school in the country you are teaching in/for requires this. I can recommend Intesol.

INTESOL has a lot of fingers in the TEFL training courses pie and this can be seen by the jumble of courses which are listed on their website. I found it incredibly difficult to make a decision about which course I should take that would be best for me, but in the end, I settled on their “most popular” 120 Hour Certificate in TEFL and TEYL.

I am also puzzled with their pricing system because all their courses are advertised as reduced in price, but they never update these prices, so why not simply show the real price of the course all the time and not pretend that the courses are ever sold at the higher price? My course was advertised as reduced from £345.00 to £175.00, but I would place down good money that nobody has ever paid the £ 345.00-course fee. I understand it is a marketing ploy but I’d expect to see this type of pricing method in a sofa warehouse and not on the website of a TEFL training company.

Anyway, I got over these initial frustrations and in good faith made my course payment, was provided with my login to their “INTESOL Online Campus” (the online course section), and got started.

My overall impression of the course was that it covered everything I needed to know about TEFL and TEYL and I was mostly satisfied with my online study experience. Help was available if required and the course modules were presented in a clear, logical, and comprehensive order.

As another reviewer on here mentioned, their accreditation is a joke and they should do something about that, but I have since read that all TEFL course accreditations are a joke, so you can’t blame INTESOL for joining that bandwagon.

Overall a good course and although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to others, I wasn’t particularly dissatisfied with it either. It does what it says on the tin and I hope it will help when I start the process of looking for teaching work in Asia.

I chose this particular INTESOL TESOL Training Online certification course because of the remote learning benefits. The course materials were thorough enough to feel challenging and I was surprisingly shocked at how little I actually knew and genuinely impressed with how well the course delivered so that my gaping holes of knowledge were quickly filled.

+ the course comes with tutor support and email response times are good.

+ the flexibility of working at your own pace.

+ internationally recognized TESOL certification.

+ they offer combined online/face courses.

_ unless you agree to accept a job placement through the program there isn’t a whole lot of after-course support in finding a job.

_ as another reviewer on trustedteflreviews mentioned, their accreditation doesn’t really come over as being on the up. Perhaps a recommendation for INTESOL would be to consider changing its accreditation.

I just can’t understand the previous negative review of the INTESOL TEFL program. I really enjoyed my study time with INTESOL and they were always there with helpful support when I had any questions. I loved the course setup and I really learned a lot of new information which I could never have gotten from a textbook. They also helped me to arrange work and if it wasn’t for them I don’t think I would be teaching now. From my own experience, I’m giving INTESOL 5 stars.

I don’t understand why, but it is very difficult to find INTESOL Worldwide reviews online. So I wanted to add mine here on trustedteflreviews.com.

Firstly, I’ll list the pros and then cons of taking this TEFL/TESOL certification course.

The 120-hour course price is reasonable and is a way more affordable alternative to in-class TEFL courses.

I had no problems with the sign-up process and there were no hidden, extra costs.

The study content was excellent. It was interesting and made me feel excited about when I would be teaching English myself.

I don’t know why in hell, but they just have stock images on their official school website. It just devalues their look and gives off a cheesy vibe.

Their accreditation is a joke. INTESOL’s website reads: ‘INTESOL Worldwide TEFL | TESOL courses are accredited and certified by ALAP (Awarding Language Acquisition for Professionals), a UK-based Awarding Organisation. ALAP is an accrediting organization that specializes in the ELT industry.’ When you visit their website, you get to pages with more stock photos and really vague language. They don’t even list the names of the schools which they accredit.

I read the FAQs here and was surprised to learn that there is no single TEFL/TESOL accreditation body. So never choose a course because of who they are accredited by or if they are or not. It just doesn’t matter.

Still though, INTESOL Worldwide get 3 stars from me as the course was excellent.
