I completed the 120-hour course in teaching English as a foreign language. I chose this particular program because I’m a Toronto local and it just worked out easier for me to take the OISE TEFL Course. It was 100% online, but I thought it would be useful having the brick/mortar contact option just in case I needed to contact someone in person. In the end, I never did need to take up this option, but it was comforting to know that it was there if required. It was a really insightful course and was manageable to do as I had a lot of time to complete the course. Overall I would definitely recommend OISE for the TEFL qualification if you are an independent learner. The only reason why I would give it 4/5 stars is that sometimes the tutors were quite slow at replying – other than that all was great!

I recently completed the OISE TEFL 120 course, consisting of 100 hours of core curriculum and 20 hours of two specialized units. For the units, I chose to specialize in Teaching Test Preparation Courses and Teaching Business English study teaching topics. I chose these two units because I felt they would be most required of me to have in order to teach EFL to adults. OISE TEFL also includes specialized units for specific focus countries, such as Japan, but I wasn’t committed to a specific teaching overseas location when I was taking the course, and the Business and Testing topics seemed like a prudent, safe bet for future Stefany

From the moment I began the course, I realized that I had made a good choice.

Sure, the course ain’t cheap. But, I recently came into an unexpected source of funds, and so had a budget for this certification course program.

My main take from the course was a) how well organized the course is, and b) just how helpful the feedback from the school administration was.

The mandatory lesson plan assignments were a golden opportunity to show off the content I had learned, and the feedback I received on them was quick in coming and surprisingly detailed. I actually wasn’t expecting such detailed feedback. For each lesson plan, you receive a grade, together with constructive advice on how to better improve the structure of the lesson plan.

I fully believe that the OISE TEFL course has helped me on my way to becoming a valuable teacher for any future students I find myself teaching when I make my trip overseas. I have since shifted my focus to getting established as an English teacher in Vietnam – I’m currently looking into opportunities in Hanoi and HCM City. I’ve read up a lot on this in recent weeks and I’m comforted by what I have read from teachers already grounded in these two cities.

OISE TEFL lived up to the hype and I am very satisfied with the services I received from this company.
