It was OK. It’s a bit more expensive than most other programs so I naturally assumed it would be the gold standard of TEFL courses. The course itself is fairly easy to navigate and they do cram in a lot of information but it’s quite dated and lacking in decent video content. I took their 120 hours TEFL so it means the cheapest of their offers. Even by just taking their cheapest course you will still be given free access to their jobs board-something which was an extra help when it came to looking for teaching work. That’s it though so don’t assume they hold your hand through the process. Actually, they do write clearly on their school website that they are not an employment agency so fair dues really. I found that it was easy to pick up work and I definitely don’t regret making the decision to start a new career as an English teacher.

The course looked a little intimidating at first, having absolutely no past experience in teaching at all, but as soon as I started I realized that the course had been designed for people like myself, with no previous teaching experience. That’s not to say this course was easy. It wasn’t. but the way the lessons are structured makes it relatively easy to navigate through the course stages and I thought the materials were presented really well. The parts where I got stuck the most were when it came to grammar. Understanding the grammar rules was just a matter of reading and taking in the information, but the difficult part was in understanding the techniques of how to present and teach the grammar. I learned that timelines are really useful tools for this and I always use one when teaching grammar time tenses to students. Another area where I slipped up a bit was phonetics. The table of phonemes can seem overwhelming at first. My advice here is not to worry about trying to memorize the whole table. I mean, you can if you want to, but just having it at hand when teaching, as a reference chart, is absolutely acceptable and the phonetic chart is very useful for pronunciation classes because it simplifies the process of explaining how sounds in English are voiced. I think because there is so much information contained within the course that no one can realistically expect to absorb all the information, and I found that learning and teaching is an ongoing process as I teach more and more classes and gain more and more experience. This course though was an excellent introduction to teaching and I have no regrets about choosing ITTO.

It has been a good few years now since I took my 120-hour TEFL-TESOL course with ITTO and having stumbled across this website while looking for English teaching resources, I thought I would leave a quick feedback note.

I do still remember most of the course content and the overall memory is that it was very informative but very wordy. But I guess all TEFL courses studied online do need to be wordy. Still, I remember thinking that a bit more reliance on multimedia would have definitely helped the general course layout and would have definitely made it a more interesting study process. I don’t know how other TEFL schools have their courses set up, so I can only imagine that this is the standard norm.

My tutor was excellent and communication with ITTO TEFL was also excellent.

I do remember there not being a whole load of after-course support, like help in finding a teaching English job, but I already had one lined up so this didn’t affect my overall opinion of my course experience.

I’d definitely recommend the 120-hour TEFL-TESOL certification course. I can’t compare it to others though because I haven’t taken any other courses online.

This is a very thorough, engaging, and well-prepared course. Even though I have taught English before, I still discovered new areas of teaching that I wasn’t aware of the importance of before. My assigned tutor was engaging, as well as supportive when I needed a helping hand through the more difficult and demanding sections. The course content covered was all-around excellent. I can’t comment on ITTO’s employment-finding support because I took the course to remain in my current teaching post (just needed the TEFL certificate) although if the support is anything like that which I received from my online tutor then I’m assuming it is likewise top-notch. I teach English online and the industry as a whole is showing no signs of slowing down. It’s a superb way of earning money online and being able to keep flexible working hours (within reason of course). Top marks for ITTO’s online TEFL course and a top recommendation from me to take your teaching skills online.

I am very satisfied with my learning experience through the ITTO Online TEFL program and wanted to share a little of my positive experience here on trustedteflreviews.com.

The online study platform works seamlessly – without any bugs that I was initially worried there might be with a purely online study course. The staff were really helpful too and answered my questions well. I was considering taking their Onsite TEFL course in Latin America, but at the last moment opted to take the Online version instead and it was a great decision both in terms of course price and the flexibility that it afforded me. Can’t see why anyone would choose to take their TEFL Onsite: you save so much time and money taking it Online. Definitely a good decision. No regrets. Amy.

I want to begin by writing about how wonderful my tutor was. Susan gave great feedback on my work and helped me develop as a teacher in training. She not only graded my work but also gave me tips and pointers for how certain parts of my work could have been better. If you are going to take a TEFL or TESOL course online then you should choose one which comes with some type of tutor support. Without the help I received, the course would have been a lot more difficult and I just wouldn’t have understood it as well as I did when I completed it last year.

I was a Covid graduate, so like everyone else, I started teaching students online. I loved it and hated it. The positives of the job were that I could work from home, the money was quite good, I didn’t have a manager always breathing down my neck, and my schedule was relatively flexible. The negatives of the job were that it was very difficult to maintain everyone’s attention for the full hour, sometimes my classes would be canceled last minute, and I missed the face-to-face aspect of teaching.

Like a lot of other people, I am also waiting for South East Asia to fully open up again and when it does I’ll be on the first plane out. I’ve seen YouTube videos explaining how you can travel to the region even now at this time, but there are so many hoops that you need to jump through to meet the strict travel restrictions. I just don’t think it’s worth paying all that extra money to travel now when countries like Malaysia and Thailand should be fully open again for business come this fall.

I really liked the ITTO online course and I recommend it to others.

Is ITTO TEFL Legit? A very convenient method of doing the TEFL certification.

For me, the highlight of this course was the convenience of taking it online and not needing to travel anywhere to complete it. Everything is done online, both studying and marking and when you finish ITTO TEFL email you your TEFL certificate. I really can’t understand why anyone would want to take the TEFL course at a specific location anymore. It just isn’t worth the expense and inconvenience. Before I signed up for the course with ITTO TEFL I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about doing the course online. You read a lot of false narratives on the internet about how online courses are not worth the paper they are printed on, etc., but those really are just false narratives. Probable spread by your traditional on-location courses no doubt, now they are losing out on business to the online learning revolution. The real winning factor for me though was how I was never asked anything about how I took my course when I presented my certificate at interviews. Not one school questioned me whether I had taken my TEFL online or on location. Not one. So my advice is to take your TEFL online. You will be saving yourself a significant amount of money and the end result is exactly the same as if you traveled somewhere for TEFL classes, spending $$$$ in the process. I highly recommend ITTO TEFL.

International Teacher Training Organization (ITTO) offer a good if wordy, Advanced 140-hour online TEFL training course program and state on their school website that this course comes with “Direct Job Offers”. It’s $50 more than their Standard 120-hour online TEFL course. Despite the extra 20 training hours you receive through the Advanced course, I wouldn’t recommend it and in hindsight would have just chosen the Standard. Their job support is horrible. I only received a list of schools and that was the total sum of the “Direct Job Offers”. Not worth the extra $50. Overall 2 out of 5 stars.

Stumbling upon this online TEFL course option was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I hate to say it, but I was unemployed and living without direction until a mate mentioned I could teach English abroad. At first, it sounded too good to be true, but it turns out that it isn’t. The course was great. Everything was done online and it fit nicely within my budget. I’ve always wanted to teach English in Prague and because of this course, now I am! My piece of advice is not to take a residential course in Prague if you are planning on teaching there. The four weeks it takes to complete a residential course will eat into your job-hunting time and besides, there really is no need in 2019 to shell out a load of money on one of these courses. Go the online course route as I did and you will be just fine. I got a job within a week of landing at Prague international airport. If I could give this course six stars, I would. Thank you ITTO!

A very good course which did what it said on the tin. The whole process of signing up was easy and I particularly found their online chat useful in ironing out the kinks before committing. I did spend a lot of time comparing courses before taking the plunge and their course prices were on par with other schools. So yeah, even though I had a whole lot of other options out there my decision was tipped because of the excellent communication through email and through their website chat feature. ITTO offers Basic, Standard, and Advanced courses and it was recommended that I take the latter. I think it was good advice because even though this course is their most expensive at $325 there isn’t a great difference in price compared with the other two and because I didn’t have any teaching experience before, I felt that I did need a more thorough study. During the course, my personal tutor support was excellent (again through the website chat feature mostly). It actually took me a really short time to complete the course (1 week) so I’m not sure if this is the norm or not but the course is advertised as being 140 hours in total – I spent maybe 20 hours max on study time. But the modules were intuitive and the interactive videos broke up the course nicely. The certificate was issued promptly and then I was all set to start using their advertised worldwide job support, which was little more than a list of schools they recommended. I did get a job (not with one of the schools they referred me to) but I felt that this part of their service let them down significantly. A solid course though with amazing support.
