Overall the course was worth it. I also managed to qualify for the discount which they were offering at the time. This was a sweet deal and made taking the TEFL course an affordable option for me. The course I took was the 120-hour one. It did take me about 120 hours to finalize everything from start to finish. Emails were answered quickly and with efficiency and this meant a lot to me too. It’s my understanding that a lot of the schools offering the TEFL in-person have changed over to the online format in recent years. When I was researching which TEFL course to take this seemed a bit strange to me because going back the same schools were claiming that only in-person TEFL courses are recognized and it isn’t worth taking the TEFL online. My course showed that the online TEFL is just as important because if it wasn’t I wouldn’t have been able to land an online teaching job with the certification. I think there is much competition between online and in-person schools. My advice would be to go for the online TEFL course because you save a load of money and you get the same certification in the end with the same teaching job possibilities.

Deciding on the TEFL Online Pro certification program was a no-brainer. What sealed it for me was how they have won the Teachers’ Choice award twice, and their student feedback is consistently rated high across the board. Another major plus for me was the price of the course. I chose the 120-hour Professional TEFL course. The total course cost was just $299. This included 3 months’ access to the course, a dedicated online tutor throughout my course study, the international TEFL/TESOL certificate and letter of reference, and help with getting my resume up to scratch and help with my job search. I had read that it is common among TEFL schools to add on hidden charges when you complete a TEFL course, such as extra fees for the certificate and extra fees for help with finding work, but this wasn’t the case with TEFL Online Pro. I just paid the $299 and that was it. The course is very well designed in that it is both educational and fun/engaging at the same time. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an online course. I did have some concerns that it could be either too difficult, or too easy, but it turned out to be somewhere in the middle. It’s not a walkover, but then again it wasn’t restrictively demanding. After each module, there is a quiz to take, based on the module content, and I found this to be a very effective method of taking in the course information. I also had to submit two lesson plans, and this was a great way to get a feel of how I was progressing. Feedback on modules and lesson plans was provided in detail, and very quickly. Getting work after the course wasn’t an issue at all. With the helpful assistance from TEFL Online Pro, I managed to find a teaching English job online a couple of weeks after I completed the course. I am a very satisfied customer and a very satisfied English teacher

I expected the course to be much more thorough. I completed the 120-hour course in less than 10 hours. I am going to start volunteering virtually to tutor in ESL for a nonprofit and they accepted the certification so it’s completely legitimate. I have experience teaching and tutoring so a lot of the content was familiar to me before taking the course. If you have no teaching experience, go with another program. If you come from a background similar to mine, this will be able to get you in the door.

I am a recent graduate of TEFL Online Pro’s Professional (120 hours) course online. My experience with this company was very positive and I would like to share my thoughts on the program.

I completed the course in May of this year. It took me three weeks to complete all 12 modules and the two bonus units. I studied a couple of hours a day on it during the weekdays and for 2.5 full weekends (I finished the course on a Saturday afternoon.) The course took just over 120 hours to complete and I was happy with what was advertised in terms of study hours and with what I received.

I chose to take the TEFL with this program because they won the Teachers’ Choice Award this year, and because their course had two bonus units. These were teaching Business English and teaching young/younger learners (children and teenagers.) I don’t necessarily plan on teaching children or teenagers, but it is always good to have a backup plan in case I need to in the future. Plus, they improve my resume content.

The 12 modules cover in depth the main TEFL syllabus that I have seen also listed on practically all other TEFL programs. I’m assuming that this is the standard international syllabus for TEFL. The modules are accessible through a login page on the TEFL Online Pro website, and the structure of the course is user-friendly and very well presented.

I have to agree with other reviewers of this program that the feedback on assignments and the general speed with which my emails were answered were excellent. When you pay for something online, you are never quite sure what you will receive. When I paid for the course, I immediately received an email from Paul Murphy. It was a personalized email. When I wrote back to ask a question about testing, he responded within an hour with a detailed response. This was the precedent for how communication was quickly responded to for the whole duration of the course.

My online tutor (Rosie) was just as quick with her replies. And just as helpful in her responses.

Within two days of completing the course, I received a letter of recommendation and my course certificate from the TEFL Online Pro office. I also received access to their international job support team. Again, the communication here was excellent.

I paid a total of $299 US for the course, which included the online tutor support, the reference letter and course certificate, and the job support.

I wanted to teach online. I asked their support for help, and they delivered. A week later, I was interviewing for jobs. Two weeks after that, I had a full-time teaching position.

I really couldn’t have asked for any more. Especially given that the course is a fraction of the price of some other programs I saw advertised which don’t seem to have so many varied services for students.

The only negative of the course, for me at least, was that I wasn’t able to download the modules for later use. Instead, I was instructed to make screenshots of the activities that I wanted to save for my records. The reason for this might be because of copyright issues. Still, it would have been nice to be able to create a binder of the course that I could then use as a library resource.

I recommend this program for the quality of the course, office feedback, and end-of-course job support services.

The Let’s TEFL 120-hour online course is a good option if (as in my case) you don’t have the option of taking four weeks out for the on-site certification training alternative. I was looking for a course I could study when I had time off from work and this version of the TEFL training fit well for me. The course is solid. I didn’t have any previous teaching experience of any kind whatsoever, so I was a little nervous when I signed up. I made sure to read the program’s website thoroughly, so I had a pretty good idea going into what to expect in the general sense, but I wasn’t certain just how involved and complex the information would get. This is the standout positive of the course. It starts off slow and easy and builds in difficulty and momentum. I personally liked this approach because if it had begun really difficult I don’t know whether I would have felt motivated enough to study on through to the end. I had to pay extra for the certificate and I thought the program could have been more active with help finding jobs and giving advice on which schools to avoid. Overall the course was great and I would probably recommend Let’s TEFL to others.

I just want to start my review of MyTEFL by stating that I didn’t use their job placement services. So this review is limited to the course that I took, the 120-Hour TEFL certification course – which, I thought, was very good. Why did I think it was very good? It was convenient. I paid, studied the modules, took the module quizzes, received the certificate, and began teaching online. Really simple. There is a lot of online teaching work. It did take me a while to get my foot in the door but once you do (and if you are a decent enough teacher) you will soon find yourself inundated with new classes. It took me about a month and a half from sending off my first resume to being offered a job. One word of advice for the procrastinators out there is that you can’t email off your resume and then sit back and wait for the job offers to come flooding in. It’s a competitive market. Many people are looking for teaching jobs online. You have to be proactive like I was. I would keep sending my resume and I would always try and address the email to the HR manager or someone who was responsible for the company hiring. I’m pretty confident the schools receive a huge number of resumes every single day. You need to make it happen that your one is the one that is read, and addressing your email (or even cover letter) to the right person (or even to just the right school’s name) will be putting your best foot forward. So, yes, MyTEFL was a very good course. It won’t turn you into the best teacher ever, but it does the job of teaching you about all the main areas of what you need to know as a TEFL teacher. The only negative is that MyTEFL only helps you with your job search if you pay for their job placement services. I chose not to and I still found a job.

The combination of strong study materials and good tutor support made taking the Bridge TEFL course a really good experience for me. The pacing of the materials is perfectly timed in order to complete the 120-hour course on time and I never once felt rushed or under pressure. I would advise though to budget your time out equally because I imagine it would be easy to fall behind if you skipped time on a module. I think this is the reason why some people have not been so happy with their Bridge TEFL course because they don’t realize that this isn’t a self-paced course; but rather a course with specific deadlines and a specific start and end date. I was very satisfied with this system of learning because otherwise I might have fallen behind had I had an indeterminable amount of time in which to complete the course. After I graduated from the course I paid for the hardcopy certificate and received it via the post a few weeks later. I am very satisfied with how the certificate looks and feels. My plan is to start teaching English online and then progress to an overseas teaching post later in the year.

Paid $200 for the MyTEFL 120-Hour online course, based on the reviews on a different reviews website where MyTEFL has been highly rated. Naturally believed the reviews. Why wouldn’t I? Now that I have taken the course I would write that the reviews I read were likely written by the admin staff at MyTEFL. Why? The course was terrible. I was able to complete the whole 120-Hour course in under 24 hours. Have since read the MyTEFL warnings on Trusted TEFL Reviews and the penny has dropped. This is most definitely a program to be avoided and I just wished I had read the warnings before I chose this program and parted with my money. I would like to write that the course content and course structure was good, despite the incredibly short time it took to complete the course, but it wasn’t. I’m not usually someone who goes online to complain, but I felt I just had to in this example so that people know what they are getting into if choosing to go through this company. I will see whether I can use the certificate or not. If it transpires that I can’t, I’ll just probably have to go through the process again but with a more reputable TEFL company.

The TEFL Online Pro 120-hour course is a serious course for serious teachers. It’s not overly difficult, but it is focused and doesn’t waste your time. It covers a wide range of issues teachers face when working abroad, various classroom situations, and essential subjects, and provides valuable background, industry, and in-country information. The course sessions are well-presented and thorough. They are engaging and written for maximum value – not a lot of unnecessary storytelling, etc., which is nice when you’re on a mission. Every word matters in this course. Not once did I think, “I already know this stuff” or get bored or feel as though my time was wasted. Just do it, you won’t be sorry.

This was an OK course that got the job done.

The TEFLen Advanced 120-Hour Course seems to be one of the more affordable programs to take your teaching English certificate through and for what you pay I think you get more or less a good deal.

I can’t fault the course at all. It’s very well structured and dives straight into the intense study from the get-go. No messing around at all. The course is divided into 6 sections (Teaching English/Grammar/Skills/Lesson Plan/Sub Skills/Materials) with a heavy focus on teaching theory and how to create useful lesson plans. The lesson plans section was my favorite section and I received useful feedback from TEFLen as I began developing my plans.

The certificate is issued punctually and what stands out is the certificate verification feature. What this means is employers can check the validity of your certificate on the TEFLen website and you can also check it yourself by inputting your verification code. This is a neat feature and (I guess?) must be in place to prevent someone from forging a certificate themselves.

A bit of a let down though was the “100% Job Assistance” that they advertise. Actually, in hindsight, I’m not sure what this means anyway. There wasn’t any job assistance with this program.

I was able to find work anyway in a relatively short period. It just would have been nice to have had someone who knows the market well to guide me in the right direction.

Overall this is a good Online TEFL option with the course content and bonus certificate feature being the highlights of the program.

I was happy taking this distance study course- completed it last year.

For a course consisting of 120 study hours, it really crams in a lot of information and I got to learn so much about teaching through this distance study. The program covers a lot. As I had never taught before I was nervous at first about studying solely through a computer, but the design is user-friendly and it starts off nice and slow so you don’t immediately feel overwhelmed with all the new information taught. It then gradually becomes more difficult, but by this stage, I was happy with the more challenging assignments. After each unit, there is a multiple-choice quiz. This is an excellent way to mark students’ progress as the quizzes are fun to complete. The support was also definitely there for me from the MyTEFL central office and they did spend time helping me with finding work overseas. I didn’t take them up on their job placement services though because I wanted to find a teaching job independently, so I can’t comment on what their job placement is like. From what I read on their website though people seem to be pretty happy with the service so I wouldn’t completely rule out this option if you want to save a lot of time job hunting. I did find it really easy to find work. Maybe this was because of the time of year. I really can’t say. Work is most definitely out there and lots of it too.

I completed my TEFL Online Pro (Professional) 120-hour course on 3/16/2020.

Sue was an fantastic personal tutor during the whole course length. Whenever I had a question she got back to me within a couple of hours (did take longer at the weekends though) and her input with her expertise in teaching was so valuable when it came to submitting my lesson plans for feedback and grading. The lesson plans were my favorite sections of the course because they gave me the chance to adapt the course information that I learned to real-life case scenarios for teaching in a classroom environment. I don’t know if other courses do this but if they don’t then they should. With Sue’s feedback, I was much better aware of how to structure my lessons and what should be taught at each stage of the Presentation/Practice/Production classroom stages. The course provided lots of helpful activities which I will make sure to use when I start my online teaching job on Monday. I initially experienced difficulty with the application process for online teaching, so I asked Paul from the TEFL Online Pro office for his help and he sent me a hell of a useful PDF document with the school they recommend applying to and tips on how you should interview, etc. Be warned that there is a whole load of teachers applying for teaching jobs online now so it does require quite a bit of effort to get to the interview stage. The good news though is that the school I’m starting with on Monday has some sort of contract with TEFL Online Pro so I found the whole process to be pretty simple once I’d applied and interviewed. The pay at $28 per hour is pretty good too. It’s not as much as some jobs I’ve seen advertised in places such as Japan, but with the Coronavirus wreaking havoc internationally, I was just incredibly fortunate that a friend of mine recommended this program and that now I can continue earning money during the lockdown. I’m hoping it will all be over by September because I want to travel somewhere to teach. I was impressed with TEFL Online Pro. Everything they promised they delivered. I’ve nothing negative to write. They deserve their 5-star rating.

Great course! You’ll work really hard and you’ll find it’s definitely worth it. Almost every aspect of teaching is covered and the materials are very well presented. A very good balance between price and quality. Also, lots of workarounds. It’s been a while now since I took this course (online) and now we’re all in lockdown the demand for teachers has been driven pretty much exclusively online. Perhaps the teaching market in China is going to open up soon. Anyways, Oxford Seminars is definitely worth it. Cheers!

Man. Took this course a few years back when I was a fresh-out-of-college graduate and this Tefl certification has paid for my trip so far down to San Jose, Costa Rica. I plan on traveling the whole distance down to Argentina or Chile, but that’s a long way ahead of me. Dude. It was cheap to take the course – all done online – and they help you along the way if you have any urgent questions (like I did in Mexico City

It’s not just about the traveling though. As you teach your way along, you get to meet great local people and you sometimes make a real difference in the lives of the local people. For me, this type of travel is a win/win because I didn’t need to save for months before starting my trip, and the people I teach along the way not only give you that Wow factor but also continue to finance your journey through clean, respectable work.

If you are thinking of taking the jump into TEFL, then tefl online pro is the people you should go through. Their support is amazing.

My only regret was not paying more for their 140-hour combined course, because at first, I felt a bit out of my depth teaching with only the materials learned online. I soon picked it up, but that extra kickstart would have made those first few weeks smoother.
