There was no feedback or guidance whilst doing the course and emails routinely went unanswered. The course looks outdated with too much emphasis on theory!!! I wish they had given feedback because I felt blind going through the course. If I had to do my TEFL all over again I wouldn’t choose to take this course. Hopefully, if Premier TEFL is reading my review, they will rethink how they interact with their customers. There is potential in the course – I did learn some important things about teaching – but without the support from the side of Premier TEFL, it’s difficult to judge for yourself if you are heading in the right direction or not.

My reason for choosing to take the Premier TEFL certification course online was that I read an article that was sponsored by this company. I had always wanted to branch out into a different employment field and teaching English felt like the right fit for me. I was happy with the cost of the course, and I had a good feeling from the company representative I spoke with on the phone, so I just went ahead and signed up. I did like how the course was presented and how I was able to study at my own pace. What I didn’t like, however, was the necessity to read through page after page of dense text. I’m a visual learner and would have benefited from a different approach. I also noticed some errors in the text, which did leave me questioning the authenticity of the course. Despite all this though, I did learn a significant amount of new TEFL information and the course did help me to develop my lesson planning skills. I already knew I wouldn’t be using the Premier TEFL job-finding service, because of the low-rated reviews, so I conducted an independent search for teaching jobs online and I found it wasn’t that difficult to find work. You do need to be persistent and keep bugging schools with emails, but it only took me a few months to get started so it is definitely doable. A tip for anyone reading this review is to clarify with your school how long a teaching hour is going to be. My school pays $15 US an hour, and that’s for a 45-minute lesson, so while $15 might not sound that great at first glance it is actually not too bad when you tally it up as a 60-minute class lesson.

This is a review of the Premier TEFL 150-hour TESL course. I paid CAD 549 for the course and $89 US for the hard copy certificate. The course was a lot more expensive than some of the ones I saw being offered on Groupon. I did my research though and it seems that certificates from the cheap options are not always recognized by language schools. This is why I paid more to take the course with Premier TEFL. I would say that it was money well spent. I liked the course because it was interesting and I did learn a lot about teaching English to people without English speaking skills. I felt that the job guidance offered by this program was under par with what was promised. I asked for help finding teaching work online. I had to badger them a few times before they eventually got back to me and when they did I only received a very basic list of well-known schools. I could easily have found this information out for myself by doing a quick 10-minute search online. 5 stars for the course but I’m afraid I’m giving 1 star for the job guidance.

Level 5 Ofqual regulated. I have questions about the accreditation.

I was very happy with the course. It’s advertised as being a 168-hour Ofqual Regulated Level 5 TEFL. It did take me a bit less than the advertised 168 hours to complete the course, but all in all, I learned heaps and found the learning materials to be potentially very helpful for the future when I’ll be teaching English overseas. I haven’t used their job placement services yet, what with COVID-19 still being an issue, but looking through their website I see that most people appear satisfied with the job placement route with this company and I think it will save me a lot of time, and stress by starting out with the job placement and then going the independent route once I have more teaching experience. Either way, the TEFL course has prepared me for what it said it aims to do. So, with regard to the course structure and content, I have no complaints whatsoever.

A few days ago though, I was looking at Reddit and saw a discussion about whether Premier TEFL is actually accredited by Ofqual, or not. I checked on the UK Ofqual register and didn’t see Premier TEFL listed. A couple of other programs are listed as being Ofqual regulated, but not Premier TEFL. If anyone could shed some light on this for me, I’d be really happy about it. It’s got me a bit worried.

Excellent Online TESOL option.

I returned home from traveling and planned to get a mundane job so I could afford to take a TESOL course somewhere. Someone I knew took theirs in Paris and it ended up costing her an arm and a leg! There were the flight tickets, the accommodation, living expenses, and the $1,800 for the 4-week course. It ended up costing her over $5,000 and that was before she had even begun teaching! Note: she did begin teaching after her course and paid back the initial upfront fees (described above) within 6 months. No wonder it’s big business for these schools offering in-class certification!

Fortunately for me, I came across the Premier TEFL website before I had committed to traveling overseas for the TESOL class and the total cost to get the TESOL certificate wasn’t $5,000. More like $500!

I didn’t need to travel anywhere to take the course and I was able to complete it over a 2-week period and from home.

For anyone who hasn’t taken a course online, don’t worry that you won’t be able to succeed with it online. These online TESOL companies are now well-established and have online studying down to a T.

I paid for the course online and then got sent my login details for the website. When you log in, you see your own study area where you complete the course a module at a time. There is the help provided by the Premier TEFL office if you have a bit of the course you are stuck on. I just needed to ask one thing just once. It’s a straightforward course to take that shouldn’t have you needing so much help in completing it.

I think anyone taking one of the in-class TESOL courses is crazy IMHO. Go for an Online TESOL. You’ll save a load and it’s a stress-free alternative.

Many promises were made but in the end, very few were delivered. Trying to get a hold of premier tefl felt like trying to get blood out of a rock at times. And when they did respond, the replies felt like it was an inconvenience to them. As soon as you have completed the course and paid the hidden charge for the certificate (which I was not expecting at all!) they then never respond to your emails unless you show interest in one of their paid internships/job placements abroad. It’s a shame really because I thought the course was pretty good. I hadn’t taught before and I really got into each of the modules. I won’t be recommending premier tefl to anyone.

My Premier TEFL TESOL online certification course review.

This was an encouraging and motivating online teacher of English course in which I enjoyed learning about different teaching methodologies, the many different forms of grammar which are taught in classrooms, and pieces of advice to put into practice. All this has helped me understand more about this teaching field and how to effectively plan and deliver thought-out and effective lesson planning. It has definitely made a difference in my teaching abilities and in my general confidence in leading a class of English language student learners. I am sure I will have an opportunity in the future to use the full extent of the materials and resources I was given in this course. A great message to pass around is how easy it is to teach English abroad or online and how it brings a lot of flexibility into your life and how you feel a sense of purpose in teaching people whose English language skills make a real difference in their personal and professional lives.
