This is my TEFL Online Pro review. I enrolled in December 2021, in the 120-Hour Professional course. If I had to sum it up in one sentence, it would be that it was a very good value accredited TEFL/TESOL certification. I timed my enrollment for when a $50 promotion was being run and this meant the course only cost me $249. The program is fully accredited as well and when I compared the course price to other programs offering the TEFL/TESOL course fully accredited TEFL Online Pro came out as the best choice. It was important for me that choose a program that would be recognized internationally. Since completing the course I’ve begun applying for teaching jobs in Europe and I already have a summer camp teaching job confirmed for July and August. The job support staff at TEFL Online Pro has also been actively helping me with my search for a more permanent teaching position since September. So far I have heard back from 9 schools, and I’m in the process of weighing up the benefits of working for each one before I make my final choice. It wasn’t at all difficult getting job interviews and I see that there is strong demand for TEFL teachers in Europe. So all in all it was an excellent program with positive results. My only gripe with the program was the first time they mailed me my certificate it arrived slightly damaged in the post. They did quickly post another one off for me and that one did arrive in perfect condition. I’m giving the program a 9 out of 10.

OISE University of Toronto TEFL fully prepared me for a start in teaching English to non-native English speakers. It is 100% online so sometimes there was a disconnect between fully comprehending the course due to the typical delayed question-and-answer process. However, OISE TEFL always responded to my questions within 48 hours and this quick turnaround of replies definitely helped with the overall comprehension of course materials. My tutors were obviously experts in their respective fields, and due to the nuances of online instruction, they responded as best they could to my questions about the materials. There were a few times when I just couldn’t work out the meaning of sections of the course, but this wasn’t the fault of the faculty, it is merely the product of online instruction. As a full-time employee, the only way I could achieve a TEFL certification was through an online program. I was paying out of pocket and felt that I was getting a not-so-different instruction if I had been fortunate enough to be in the classroom. It was just the real-time in-person back and forth which was lacking a little with this course as compared to one studied in person. What I really liked about this program, apart from the course, which I thought was excellent, was that OISE TEFL partners with Teach Away, their sister company, and Teach Away will help you find a job after the course. I have always wanted to teach English in Portugal and so when Teach Away was able to help me find schools employing English teachers in Lisbon I took full advantage of their help and it then wasn’t difficult lining up interviews. I already have a few schools showing strong interest in me traveling over for a September start and if (fingers crossed) it is possible to travel then I will be on a plane for Europe in August. Online courses will never take the place of on-site ones but I thought OISE TEFL did an excellent job regardless.

The sole reason for choosing the Hybrid (140-hour) course was the 20 practice hours component of the course; making this a super-affordable alternative to the residential course (in Paris) that I was considering taking at the time. As far as I can see, the only difference between taking this combined course and a residential one (apart from the significantly lower course price) was that I didn’t need to be stuck with a new group of people for 4 weeks, whom I might or might not have gotten on well with. I now have my international certification from tefl online pro which states the course modular components and the number of teaching practice hours taught. It is exactly the same certificate that I would have received had I spent a few thousand $ more and flown to France to take the course onsite, which I felt I was being pressurized into taking by the TEFL school in Paris which will remain anonymous. Don’t believe any onsite (residential) course school when they tell you that you must take one of their courses. It is BS. If you are looking for a TEFL course with teaching practice hours, which you can take anywhere you want to (I took mine at my local high school) then you should save your $$$$ and take a combined online/onsite course. You can’t go wrong with the tefl online pro-Hybrid (140 hours) course. I’m flying out to Lyon next week to begin my TEFL job. Awesome, right?!

My original review was three stars, but having read the comments below, and the reaction from ITTT TEFL, I am please requesting that I confirm this as a two-star review. Thank you. Dan.

I chose to take a teaching English course online because I needed a new direction in my life and didn’t have the available funds to take a TEFL course overseas. Teaching English overseas wasn’t something I knew much about or even thought was possible, so when I read about the ITTT Online TEFL program, I immediately signed up and began my baby steps into the world of teaching. I’d used the internet before but I’d never studied online and I wasn’t sure if it was possible to learn to teach English online. This concern soon subsided when I began the course and started to become familiar with the study format. I’d give the actual course 4 stars because it was educational and I did get a lot out of it.

However, the support wasn’t that forthcoming and I feel this let down the overall ITTT product. I was able to find teaching work pretty easily within a few months of my course finishing, but the whole process would have been a lot swifter and less stressful had I received that support ITTT promised me when I originally signed up.

I’ve been teaching English in Spain (Madrid) now for a couple of years and I love my life here. Contrary to what I read online, it is super easy here to find employment and the pay is reasonable when you consider that you have a lot of free time on your hands. I don’t have a college degree and that turned out not to be a problem for the 2 schools I teach for. The work visa was a bit of a pain at first as I needed to get a few documents apostilled/translated, but besides that, it was no biggie. I recommend teaching English in Spain. Lots of free time. Positive students. Great food. Affordable lifestyle. Spanish isn’t a difficult language to learn.

My 100-hour (certification with job placement) online/onsite hybrid course with Oxford Seminars was very enjoyable and I honestly felt it was one of the best learning experiences I have ever had. The trainers were amazing and the online course sections were very compelling. The price (US$1,195) was pretty acceptable too. Looking back, what I most remembered fondly was the college campus atmosphere and I think this atmosphere contributed to a general sense that this was a high-quality course run by highly experienced trainers.

What a horrible shame it was then when this impression was abruptly shattered once the course was over and I contacted the school admin for details of job placement. When I originally signed up for the course it was made certain and clear that my wish was to teach in Europe and the Oxford Seminars admin confirmed this was no problem. Instead, I was offered work in China and when I (politely) turned the offer down, no other offers came.

This is a company with awesome trainers and teaching staff but be aware that the management just doesn’t seem to care.
