Bridge TEFL Master Certificate review. I’m going to have to give Bridge TEFL a mixed review.

The benefits of the course: very good quality course content | online teachers were quick to respond to questions | the company is based in Colorado and the certificate therefore should be recognized in the US | feedback on assignments was swift and helpful | the certificate is professional looking | some job support is provided when you have completed the course.

Things I wasn’t happy about: the course is run on the Moodle platform and there is a steep learning curve to it, that happens right at the start of the course | the course scheduling is rigid with set study hours and it’s not possible to study when you feel like it | I thought the cost of the hard copy certificate was excessive.

Overall, I can attest that this is a top-quality course but with a few significant drawbacks.

Since taking the course I’ve compared what Bridge offers with some medium-priced programs offering the same amount of TEFL hours and I can’t see any real differences in what either offer.

You pay for the Bridge TEFL brand name and that may be something that some people are willing to sign up for, but if I were to have the choice again I would choose a cheaper 120-Hour TEFL course program and one with more scheduling flexibility.

I know that it will be possible to use the Bridge TEFL certification for jobs – online and abroad – but I don’t think it is necessarily the best value-for-money TEFL program.

Best TESOL Certification: Guaranteed TEFL job.

TEFL Online Pro is a superb TESOL study program.

It seems to be a mid-sized program, not a giant chain, and this meant for me that communication between myself and the program was always quick responses and they knew who I was throughout the course.

I wasn’t just another student in their system.

My work colleague took a TESOL course with one of the bigger brands (Bridge TEFL) and his main complaint was that they took a long time to answer his questions and took a long time to give feedback on his coursework assignments, and when the feedback did come it didn’t always make a whole lot of sense.

My first impressions of the TEFL Online Pro course? Easy to navigate. Organized. Focussed on content.

My first impressions of the TEFL Online Pro tutoring staff and program management? Approachable. Friendly. Helpful. Professional. Quick to respond.

The support was superb.

I purchased the 120-hour course with TEFL Online Pro on January 3rd.

It took me two weeks to finish.

14 modules and two lesson plan coursework assignments in total.

Today is Feb 22. I have already begun teaching online.

TEFL Online Pro helped me find my job but didn’t charge me anything for the service.

This help included combing through my resume for me and giving their professional opinion about what I should omit or add, providing me with job interviewing tips, and connecting me with schools with which TEFL Online Pro partners.

My starting salary was $35 US per hour.
In the employment contract, it states that if I stay with them for six months this rate increases to $42 US.

I’ve since connected with other people who went through this program and we all have similar positive reports of the course and the guaranteed job at the end.

My dream job’s main box tick was always that it would enable me the possibility of working remotely.
Teaching English online ticks this box.

I’ve taken online courses in the past.
Nothing can compare to this experience.

It is by far the best.

Not only that, but the benefits of taking the course were apparent almost immediately after completing it.

What can I write other than to seriously consider this program if you are uncertain which will be the best one for you?

It turned out that TEFL Online Pro was the best for me.

I thought the price I paid for the course was fair and the learning materials were very well developed for people like myself, who have absolutely no English teaching knowledge at all. It was an excellent course but no job guidance support to speak of. Therefore Bridge TEFL get 4 stars from me.

Bridge TEFL doesn’t operate just under one website, so if you want to avoid taking your certification with this company you’ll need to check and see if a website shows their logo or not. If it does, then it’s just another website they have set up. It must be down to the many negative reviews of their program online.

They wanted to charge me $75 for my course completion certificate and when I refused, they emailed me an almost illegible PDF version copy.

You are only a walking $ sign to these people and they have zero interest in helping you once you’ve entered your credit card details.

There are so many other options out there. Please avoid Bridge TEFL!

I enjoyed taking this course and I did learn something from it, but there were some serious flaws, as I want to briefly highlight after describing the course’s pros.

The pros were mainly that this was my first online study experience and I was impressed with how it was even possible to study online. At first, I was skeptical, but now I wouldn’t think twice about taking another learning program online. The Bridge TEFL 120-Hour (Master) course is made up of thirteen modules and you get to cover what I imagine are the essential English grammar teaching topics, such as the Overview of Tenses section, which I found particularly of high interest. As someone who was born in an English-speaking country, I was actually amazed at how much I didn’t know about the theory of English grammar. So for me anyway, the course content was very good and I did come out with a decent foundation in TEFL knowledge.

The con of taking your online TEFL with Bridge TEFL is unfortunately that the course is over-priced. I enrolled in a timely manner because they were offering a limited discount on the course, but I have since noticed that this same discount runs on a constant basis, and compared to other courses which offer the same type of course this one is more expensive. Then, in the end, I was forced to fork out $75 for Bridge TEFL to mail me the certificate. If I hadn’t paid this extra fee, I would just have only received a certificate PDF copy.
