I completed a TEFL course through ITTT, and while the course itself was passable, the overall experience left me disappointed.

To start with the positives: the course content was fine. It covered the basics of English teaching and was reasonably easy to follow. I wouldn’t say it stood out in any way, but it got the job done although definitely more on the average side.

Where the problems started was with the tutor support, or lack thereof. I paid extra for the tutor-guided option, but I never received any meaningful support. No feedback, no real guidance, just auto-responses and generic information. For something I paid more for, that was frustrating and felt misleading.

Worse still, when I tried to contact ITTT, it was extremely difficult. They have multiple websites, different email addresses, and no clear point of contact. It took me weeks to even get a basic reply, and by then, I had already completed the course. It really felt like a faceless organization and not the professional, supportive team I expected.

Then came the final blow: my certificate took nearly three months to arrive after I finished the course. No clear explanation, just more delays and silence. In an industry where timing can be critical for job applications, that kind of delay is unacceptable.

In the end, while I did receive a certificate and the course met minimum expectations, the lack of support, poor communication, and long wait times made the experience frustrating and not worth the money. I can’t recommend ITTT based on my experience.

I recently completed the TEFL course offered by i-to-i, and while the course content itself was decent, I’ve had some issues that leave me feeling uncertain about recommending it.

The course was okay overall — the platform was easy to use, and the modules were fairly well organized. It provided a good introduction to TEFL concepts, including lesson planning, grammar, and classroom management. The self-paced nature of the course was a plus for me, and the assignments were manageable.

However, the biggest problem is that I still haven’t received my certificate, even though I completed everything. I’ve reached out to customer support, but the response has been slow and unhelpful so far. This is disappointing, especially since the certificate is essential for applying to jobs.

I also came across online discussions suggesting that i-to-i may have gone through bankruptcy or changed ownership recently. I can’t confirm this, but the fact that multiple people are mentioning delayed certificates and poor communication is definitely concerning.

If you’re just looking to get a basic TEFL qualification and aren’t too worried about job placement or top-tier accreditation, i-to-i might be passable. But if you’re planning to teach abroad seriously or need guaranteed certificate delivery, I’d advise caution.

• Concerns about recent company changes or restructuring

Would I recommend this course?
Only if you’re looking for a low-cost, introductory TEFL option and are willing to take a risk on delays. For more reliable certificate delivery and support, consider other providers.
