Teaching English as a Second Language.

When I was looking to take a TEFL/TESL certification course, I had in the forefront of my mind that I wanted to take a course that included a teaching practice component.

I researched the web for weeks until I eventually narrowed my search down to The International TEFL Academy (ITA) and TEFL Online Pro. The combined course offered through The International TEFL Academy was almost $1,000 more expensive and I naively thought that because the course price was so much more expensive, I would be receiving so much more out of the course and its related services.

So, I went for the ITA TEFL 200-hour course with twenty hours of teaching practice- divided into 180 hours of online study and twenty hours of teaching practice.

The 180 hours of online tuition were good. I’m not really sure how they calculate there being 180 hours covered because I completed this section of the course way sooner than that.

The ITA TEFL website offers in-class teaching practice locations around the globe. Prague was my first choice as I’d read so many positive reviews online about their partner there in the city: The Language House. And I was given a clear impression when I enrolled in the ITA TEFL course that I could choose to take the teaching practice segment in Prague if I so wished to.

At the last minute, they cancelled my accommodation and course in Prague. No real explanation except to refer to their T+C. In the end, as it turned out, I taught my twenty classes to online-based students. I still got something out of the experience, but I felt deceived by the whole process.

Therefore, according to my calculations, I paid approx. $1,300 (including the certification fee) to take the exact same course that teflonlinepro.com offers for just $549. I checked and the certification awarded by these two schools is identical.

If I could roll back time, I should have just enrolled in the TEFL Online Pro 140-hour Hybrid course instead. I also read that they offer better student and graduate support.

So while I was generally happy with my ITA TEFL experience, I can’t say I would recommend it at the current price they are offering it. It’s overpriced and just not worth taking when there are better, more affordable TEFL TESL program options offering the same or similar courses and services.

My decision to take the TEFL / TESOL certification online with teflonlinepro.com was based on all the positive reviews and because the program has won awards. Finding a fully accredited course was top of my list, and that box was also ticked with this program. The course was very easy to work through with my tutor guiding me and the job support I have received since has been excellent. There is always someone to speak to whenever I have a question, even months after graduating from the course.

I’m sure there are other TEFL / TESOL programs offering similar courses, but the one provided by teflonlinepro has proven to do what it says it does on the tin. I got a job right after completing the course. I recommend the program!

Fully Accredited Program.

In addition to being a fully accredited TEFL/TESOL certification program and the excellent customer reviews that this program has, I chose TEFL Online Pro because I wanted the dual benefit of being certified to teach online and overseas – anywhere in the world where they teach English. The certificate is good for both.

I chose the 120-Hour Professional course because it seemed like it would be the best fit for me, and it has been.

It took just two weeks to complete everything in the course – including the two lesson planning coursework assignments – and I received my certificate with a letter of recommendation shortly after (only 12 hours after because I chose the digital copy version of the certificate.)

It only took a few weeks between course completion and finding a job teaching English online.

I’ll teach online until the beginning of summer, and then I plan to head overseas to teach.

I’m very satisfied with this choice of TEFL/TESOL course provider, and I recommend teaching English online as a flexible way of earning money.

The only negative thing I can think of is that when you begin planning your online lessons, you do need to account for differences in time zones. I predominantly teach students based in Tokyo, so my teaching “day” occurs mainly in the evenings. This will differ depending on where you live in the world.

Great experience with tefl online pro. They have consistently good customer reviews and I understand why. The course is structured well and there is a lot of support. Anytime I messaged them I got a reply almost immediately. This is exactly what you want in an online training course. The job support at the end of the course was excellent. I wanted to start out teaching online and then transition to offline teaching. tefl online pro helped me create my resume and my cover letter. They also put me in touch with online companies that their graduates had personal experience working for. I chose to teach for Cambly because they offered me the best starting rate and the most convenient hours. It didn’t take long to get the job. Only about a week or so after completing the tefl online pro course. It was an excellent stepping stone into TEFL online employment and I’m looking forward to teaching overseas.

First time taking a training course online and it was great! Superb content with a fun multiple-choice quiz to complete each module before going onto the next one. I loved the support too! I had questions and they all got answered within a few minutes via the course messaging system. My tutor also took the time to give thorough feedback on my two (Module 6 and 11) lesson plans, which you submit via email to TEFL Online Pro.

I opted for the digital certificate and it was issued to me barely 24 hours after I’d completed the course. Came with a letter of recommendation too! The course certificate has its own unique number and looks so professional that I can understand why it is accepted worldwide. It doesn’t mention that the course was taken online and does include the logo of both the school and the accreditation body that fully accredits this program.

Post-course, I asked about teaching English options in Japan. Paul, the Operations Manager at the school, arranged for a Skype online chat so that I could ask all the questions I was wanting to find answers to. Currently applying to a number of schools in Tokyo. Two concrete job offers so far!

Also love that the certificate can be used for online teaching because I might want to teach some classes online in addition to my in-person hours.

It was a pleasure taking the course and communicating with the TEFL Online Pro team.

I’m giving teflonlinepro.com 9 stars out of 10.

The 120-hour Professional TEFL and TESOL course took two weeks from start to finish and also came with free online tutor support. Before purchasing, I compared many different programs, and the Professional course was the best in value. It’s a modules-based course with multiple-choice quizzes. There are also two coursework assignments (2x lesson plans) that you must complete. 120 hours is the industry-wide standard and the program is also fully accredited. Since completing the program last month, I’ve been steadily acquiring more and more online students. I’m also applying to teach in Korea through the EPIK program and my teflonlinepro certificate is one of the documents required for this application process. My only complaint is the section on phonetics in the course that I found very difficult. My tutor explained that they have to include phonetics because it is one of the essential parts of the TEFL/TESOL syllabus. She did add though that teachers rarely use them when they teach and they really are something to fall back on as a last resort when it comes to presenting pronunciation. There wasn’t an option to give more than 5 stars when I was writing this review, so please Trusted TEFL Reviews adjust the star rating so it reflects 9 out of 10. Thank you! Shanelle.

TEFL Online Pro is a superb TESOL study program.

It seems to be a mid-sized program, not a giant chain, and this meant for me that communication between myself and the program was always quick responses and they knew who I was throughout the course.

I wasn’t just another student in their system.

My work colleague took a TESOL course with one of the bigger brands (Bridge TEFL) and his main complaint was that they took a long time to answer his questions and took a long time to give feedback on his coursework assignments, and when the feedback did come it didn’t always make a whole lot of sense.

My first impressions of the TEFL Online Pro course? Easy to navigate. Organized. Focussed on content.

My first impressions of the TEFL Online Pro tutoring staff and program management? Approachable. Friendly. Helpful. Professional. Quick to respond.

The support was superb.

I purchased the 120-hour course with TEFL Online Pro on January 3rd.

It took me two weeks to finish.

14 modules and two lesson plan coursework assignments in total.

Today is Feb 22. I have already begun teaching online.

TEFL Online Pro helped me find my job but didn’t charge me anything for the service.

This help included combing through my resume for me and giving their professional opinion about what I should omit or add, providing me with job interviewing tips, and connecting me with schools with which TEFL Online Pro partners.

My starting salary was $35 US per hour.
In the employment contract, it states that if I stay with them for six months this rate increases to $42 US.

I’ve since connected with other people who went through this program and we all have similar positive reports of the course and the guaranteed job at the end.

I have just finished my 120-hour study course in TEFL, and the journey of learning was just awesome. I studied online using my phone whenever I had time and was able to finish the course in two weeks. Considering some TEFL courses cost almost $1,000, I was glad to find this fully accredited one for only $200. The content of the program was satisfying as it was right on the spot and I discovered so much more than expected about different teaching and learning styles/methods. I received my digital certificate as soon as I finished the course, which was also awesome. The course helped me take the first step into teaching and has helped in my career boost. One of the common complaints I read about online TEFL courses, in general, is that they don’t live up to the mark and fail to properly train you for real-life teaching. This course was the exact opposite. I was confident in my job interviews because I knew the subject material and all of the major teaching techniques, and I felt eager to start teaching and felt properly prepared for my first online classes. To top it all off, I know that I can teach English in any country in the world because the certificate is fully accredited. That’s incredible value for a $200 investment.

A great choice for the accredited TEFL/TESOL certification online.

With SO many different programs running online TEFL and TESOL programs, I thought it prudent and wise to just choose the program with the best student reviews, and that way I could be certain I wouldn’t be falling for a scam. https://teflonlinepro.com/120-hour-professional/ consistently came up in my search and when I saw how they had won the Teachers’ Choice Award 3 years in a row I simply chose them over the many other programs offering similar 120-hour programs. Plus, I wanted my certificate to be a TEFL/TESOL certification because my employer recommended I have both instead of only TEFL listed on the certificate. I had to get the approval of my school first because they were going to be paying for the course (I teach English in a small town just outside of Munich) and they also did their research and gave me the thumbs up to proceed.

I’m awarding the TEFL Online Pro program 4.5 stars out of 5. I never give 5 stars when I write reviews.

I’ll briefly list what I liked and didn’t like about the TEFL Online Pro Professional 120-Hour course:

Liked: Tutor access is quick to respond, 24/7, and comes free with the course; despite already knowing a lot about teaching English I was impressed with how much is covered in the course and how much it goes into detail; the ESL games included in the course are spot on and I have been using them in my classes since completing the course; communication with the TEFL Online Pro admin was faultless; the accredited TEFL/TESOL certificate was issued quickly and it looks presentable and professional; if I ever need help finding a job in future I can use the TEFL Online Pro job services for free.

Didn’t like: They don’t work on Sundays (although they do throughout the day on Saturday) so if you are taking the course and planning on studying exclusively on the weekends you’ll need to wait for a response from admin on Monday when they start back after the weekend; the first module was far too easy and felt more like an introduction to the course rather than an immediate jump into the pool.

Taking into consideration the quality of the course content, the quality of the tutor feedback, the reasonable price tag for the course, the fact that this is a fully accredited TEFL/TESOL certification program, and that my school employer recognized the certificate from this company, I’d say this is a program to strongly consider when wading through the many programs offering the 120-Hour teaching English certification.

A very good program with a very effective office response throughout the course. I was originally booked into a residential program in Madrid, but because of the Coronavirus, I had to 180 degrees change my plans. TEFL Madrid wouldn’t refund my course deposit. Luckily, I only paid a deposit! Many people booked up on onsite courses now will be losing any money invested. The online TEFL option was the natural choice for me and Tefl Online Pro was my final program choice. No issues at all. Quick feedback from their office staff. Took their flagship 120-hour course. I viewed it as an onsite course without actual physical attendance required. Two weeks of self-imposed quarantine and all was done and complete. I’m now continuing my quarantine with online teaching jobs. Tefl Online Pro helped me with this. A program worth taking for all the reasons explained above. Five-star course and five-star service.

The hybrid 140-hour course was an excellent choice for me. I didn’t have the time to take a course on-site and not only waste a month on residential study but also a pile of money on all the fees that come hand in hand with those types of courses. This teflonlinepro course is just $549 for the same certificate you get if you were taking an on-site course.

After I enrolled I received instant access to the online study component and it took me just over 3 weeks to finish all the modules. They were super fast when responding to my emails and I thought how they would keep checking on me to see if everything was ok was a nice touch. I then completed the 20 teaching hours stretched between teaching a few to friends and the rest to students at my then-nearest public school. My certificate of completion was delivered through UPS and it still looks great after all these months on the road.

Finding a job afterward was an initial worry for me. They say they help you find work but a lot of companies say a lot of things. teflonlinepro definitely lived up to my expectations. Their team is really understanding and supportive. Who knew I’d end up teaching English to university students in Germany? I loved my first year so much that I’ve just signed a new contract for 2019/20. No negatives at all that I can think of. And I have tried to think of some. Totally recommend this program.

I took the TEFL course through tefl online pro last summer, and I felt it did a good job of educating me in all things TEFL-related. I can’t compare it to other online TEFL courses as this was my first time taking a study course online. I do remember it being a well-designed course and I never felt bored or demotivated as I thought I would feel taking something online. I did like how I was able to start the course right after my payment was sent and I also liked the support provided. The course comes with a private tutor who will get back to you quickly after you send off a private message. I could also see that they gave a damn about you at the end of their studies, and they did spend a lot of time with me before I got my job teaching overseas. I was teaching within a month or so of the final module completion.

What I didn’t like though was how it was mandatory to complete the 2 additional units of business English and teaching teenagers/children. I had/have absolutely no desire to teach children and I just don’t see myself teaching business English either in the future. So I felt this part of the course was a bit of a waste of time for me.
