I thought the 220-hour course was excellent. If I was confused by something I just asked whatever it was that I needed to know and I always got an answer. This was appreciated because otherwise I would have run into difficulties and might even have failed the course without the support that was there for me. I honestly liked everything in the course. Before I started I took the advice to buy a grammar book because I was aware that the course would be covering a lot of grammar and that it can get very complex. I purchased the Practical English Usage grammar book, written by David Swan. What I like about this book is that he explains the grammar and also provides diagrams and examples to go with each grammar theme. It’s such a handy resource to have on hand when a student asks you a difficult grammar question. It’s also good for explaining everyday grammar too. So in conclusion I recommend taking the TEFL qualification through Intesol Worldwide. It’s affordable, there is support on hand if you need it, the course is very thorough, and it wasn’t difficult getting a job after.

220-hour Certificate in TESOL. CELTA equivalent Online TEFL/TESOL course.

At the time when I took this course, it was one of the only Online CELTA equivalent courses being advertised online. I see that since then, more and more Online TEFL/TESOL programs are now offering combined online/onsite distance learning classes. I opted for the 220-hour course because I felt I needed as much information as I could possibly receive on TEFL/TESOL in order to be able to fully function as an Esl teacher; given that I had no experience in Esl previous to enrolling.

The course was excellent. It’s well structured and doesn’t overcomplicate the subject matter. You start off slow and gradually come up against increasingly difficult learning tasks. I’ve since compared this course with other similar course offers and have identified that one of the benefits of this INTESOL Worldwide course is the 30 hours TEYL course (Teaching English to Young Learners) and TBE (Teaching Business English) training course; whereas most other courses either omit these altogether or only slightly brush over the topics. Having the additional TEYL experience listed on my course certificate has proven valuable for me in my teaching English to children career path.

Regarding the teaching practice hours, I taught some of my friends and only needed to submit my videos to INTESOL via email files. This was super convenient and the feedback that I received was super useful. I liked how you could teach friends or family, as well as real students I guess because it made completing the teaching practice hours segment a nice and smooth transition period between the completion of the online study work and the receiving of the course certificate.

I had a really positive experience with INTESOL Worldwide and recommend this Tefl/Tesol program.

INTESOL Worldwide’s 140-hour Certificate in TESOL Plus with Online Teaching Practice.

This has been one colossal, unacceptable hassle and waste.

the material and assignments are the exact same between the courses. INTESOL further didn’t tell me about all the extra equipment I would need for the teaching practice. So, I ordered everything late, in the midst of this pandemic, and experienced huge mailing delays. Everything took weeks to arrive and none of it was covered in my fees.

In the meantime, I did all the affiliated school’s extra (surprise) training and fulfilled all their other high standards despite not being warned, an employee, nor destined to be paid for my two weeks’ worth of free work for them. I even had to print up a giant poster piece by piece and line it up perfectly, wait and wait to get ultimately useless help with their buggy programs, etc.

I offered to accept the certificate without the teaching practice for a partial refund, even though I wouldn’t have attempted an upgrade at all if I knew that the teaching practice wouldn’t be included. Once again, I have gone ignored. I’ve had enough. This isn’t worth the effort and hasn’t been such for a long time.
