Hiya, Trusted TEFL Reviews. I decided to keep my review short and direct.

Things I liked about the ITTT TEFL Online course:

1. I liked the flexibility of studying online. I didn’t need to travel anywhere to take the course.
2. The course sign-up process was straightforward.

Things I didn’t like about the ITTT TEFL Online course:

1. ITTT market their TEFL courses with job placement, but when you complete the course there is no help with looking for work.
2. I received my ITTT TEFL certificate from Thailand. I thought they were a US-based company.
3. The course was overall too easy, could have done with more video tutorials, and I noticed a few grammar mistakes in the modules.

Overall, I probably wouldn’t recommend ITTT TEFL if asked to do so. The course is quite expensive and the price doesn’t equate to the quality level of the product. Sorry that I can’t write a more positive review.

I liked the flow of the course and I was able to squeeze it into my free time while I was working full-time. There isn’t a rigid timetable or anything like that so you can return to where you last left off whenever you feel like it. I wouldn’t say it is a difficult course, not really easy either- it hits a nice balance between the two. I chose to pay extra for their tutor support, although I now see that some TEFL programs offer this service for free as part of the course price. Response times from ITTT were overall pretty good and I never felt left out in the dark. I’ll be using my TEFL certificate later in the year when I hope to be able to travel abroad to volunteer to teach English in Thailand. My ITTT certificate was posted from Thailand so I’m hoping they can help me with a volunteer job placement over there. Even if you are just going to volunteer to teach, I would still pay to take a TEFL course. Literally from the first module, I knew there were so many things that I didn’t know about teaching English- things that are essential to know if you want to be an effective TEFL teacher. I am happy to recommend ITTT TEFL.

My ITTT review is based on my experience of the 120-hour Tefl Tesol certification course, with the addition of the upgrade I paid for personal tutor support. Unlike a lot of the other programs out there, ITTT charges extra for this support.

I thought the course was good. Going into the course, I did have some previous teaching experience (I taught two summer camps) so I had some basic grasp of the concepts of managing/directing a class.

My tutor was helpful with her feedback. It did sometimes take a little longer than I had hoped to get a response back to a question asked, but when I did get a reply it was usually useful in its content. And encouraging too. I really appreciated this.

I didn’t have any red flag moments on the course. All went as planned. You look at the task background information, you complete the task, and you move on to the next task.

I had the option of receiving the free PDF copy of the certificate and paying extra for the hardcopy one. I did pay the extra (I was expecting this charge at the end because I read a lot of ITTT reviews before I enrolled) and I am satisfied with how the certificate looks. When applying for jobs, I haven’t run up against any brick walls because of the certificate. I’m satisfied overall with the choice I made.

International TEFL and TESOL Training (ITTT)

This is one of the most painful online experiences I have ever had. Although I have had to learn to be more thorough in determining if something offered online is profitable or credible, I will henceforth defend my right to share with the public the negative experiences I have had with this firm, and duly inform the public of the impending disappointment of obtaining certification with this firm.

Having already had past experiences with teaching foreign & English language(s) (i.e., teaching, tutoring, conversational & business language training), I decided that I wanted ‘up’ my credentials with an ESL, or TEFL/TESOL certification.

In the midst of the global pandemic, I signed up for the 120-hour course at teflcourse.net (or ITTT), which cost me around 350 USD/$. It included a tutor, Job Placement Assistance & a free Bus. English course after completion of the main course.

I completed the coursework, including writing 500-1000 word essays at the end of each unit, in addition to submitting a longer essay at the very end. I passed the course with a score equivalent to an A-.

All this was done for nothing. It was as if I handed this company a nearly overflowing cup of effort and resources, just to receive an empty cup in return.

I will now mention the red flags to be aware of before signing up with ITTT:

1) You do not actually EVER hear from, or get to work with an assigned tutor, as promised.

2) The survey of questions before the start of your course on where you want to teach/live abroad is supposed to act as an aid in job placement..but it actually doesn’t.

3) There is no actual adequate Job Placement Assistance, online or abroad, from anyone at all after completing the course. Ever.

4) The certificate took 3 months to deliver for quite a large expense. Also, it is (visibly) documented by several sources to be “a fake TEFL certificate”.

5) Some applicants who are already living and working abroad found that they actually did not
need this certification, but liked the course
anyways.

6) ITTT claims they have practice schools in different locations for applicants to receive hands-on, in-classroom practicum, but you will not hear or receive any information/instruction on completing a required practicum before job placement.

7) Certification from ITTT resulted in the rejection of employment with schools in countries, such as Japan, South Korea, and Germany, because it does not meet the required professional-level standards, which include all of the following:
– At least 100 hours of coursework & training
– Practicum involving live teaching & observation
– Accreditation of reputable examination body
– Lack of actual instruction by qualified instructors
(*instructors who hold Master’s degrees in
TEFL/TESOL with years of overseas teaching
experience)

8) ITTT suppresses reviews that reflect the customer’s disappointment/dissatisfaction with the course, instead of ensuring professional business practices to work with disgruntled applicants by fulfilling promises (if at all applicable) or by offering a refund of payment made.

To further elaborate on the 8th point made, I noticed that when the company invited me to leave a review of their services, they deleted my review on their website — or did not allow it to get through. Then, I received the exact same invitation to leave a review a few more times. I get the feeling that they only want to promote + reviews and are not sincerely interested in quality assurance. You will not hear from an actual live person from this firm. Hear ye.

I have also noticed that almost every review I have read on Trustpilot provides 0 details about their actual job placement at an actual school/institution in said country, by way of ITTT certification/job placement assistance. I have also noted this through other rating sites concerning ITTT. All of the positive reviews focus on rating the course material alone.

My review is real and honest.
I lost hundreds of my dollars and dedicated 120 hrs of my time trying to do something I believed was just; thereby expecting to receive the implied benefits of TEFL/TESOL certification, upon the performance of good faith business practices.

1st April, 2025 UPDATE:

A customer contacted Trusted TEFL Reviews, providing us with the front and back copy of their ITTT International TEFL and TESOL Training certificate, in order to help others to be aware of the dangers of booking courses with them.

They kept it to remind themself of the horrible experience. They believe their review of ITTT is posted on Trust Pilot still (with an unusual response from the owner(s)). Strangely, they remember both the names Linda and James popping up in responses to them when they tried to report them back then.

We can confirm that Linda is Linda Dunsmore – the main affiliate marketer at ITTT.

I completed the 120-hour TEFL course online last year (ITTT TEFL) and I have to say it was an excellent overall experience. Because of unexpectedly busy work hours, it took me circa 8 weeks from start to finish. I think I read somewhere it usually takes half that time. But I did complete it and I did pass everything. When I reached out for job-finding tips, I was directed to a few websites. One of these was italki. It’s a sort of social networking site which connects students with teachers. After reading reviews, I registered and it didn’t take long to bag my first student. Maybe I was lucky but my first student was awesome (she is still one of my regular students) and it didn’t take long to get the word out about what I was offering and the hours I was available. They do start you off on a very average hourly rate, but there is a gradual increase in the pay scale, so my advice is to earn your stripes in the first few months because after that you should notice a marked increase in the number of students being referred to you and a marked increase in the amount you earn. One of the other things I appreciate about italki is they have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if your student cancels 24 hours before a class you still get paid for that class and italki will help claim the money for you. My gross income from italki alone in December was circa $3,000, so defo worth it if you are prepared to hustle and teach long hours.

I was left severely disappointed with my choice of the ITTT 120-Hr online TEFL course. It’s all about a flashy website and no substance. So many promises are made by the staff, but very few are actually delivered. When I complained about the weakness of the content materials I was basically just told this is an introductory course into TEFL. If I had known that I would have never agreed to enroll. They also claim a whole load of post-course services, but none of them were delivered. My certificate was finally delivered just over 3 months after course completion. Great website. Poor customer service.

This was a well-structured teaching course and a rewarding experience that will do the job of getting you ready to teach English abroad if you choose, like me, to take your online T-E-F-L certification with ITTT. And at the close of the course, you will receive the International TEFL and TESOL Training course certificate. Once you have this, you are ready to start full steam ahead.

I do understand that a course like this taken online can’t completely replace the type of classroom experience you would expect to receive on an intensive residential course in-house, but if like me you don’t have a whole load of cash to throw about then my advice is to take the online T-E-F-L course option. Besides, I’ve already begun applying for teaching English jobs and so far not one employer has asked any further questions about my certification other than if I have it or not. When I was researching which course to take I read a few posts (which I now believe were written by residential schools) claiming that a residential T-E-F-L course was far superior to the online version. What a load of rubbish! Save your money and take the online.

I’m not certain, but I think ITTT do a combined residential/online T-E-F-L program so if they do this would provide you with the best of both worlds.
