Teaching in Costa Rica.

I was looking to do my TEFL certification in person, instead of online. I appreciated they were pretty affordable, helpful from the start, and answering all my questions promptly. Though the housing wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, I was able to adapt and not let it affect me, other than my initial anxiety upon arriving and coming out for dinner to a huge group of people. As far as the school is concerned, we had 2 incredible instructors, Jackie and Claudia… there are not enough adjectives to describe them. They had an incredible rapport, energy, compassion, knowledge, and enthusiasm and were more than patient and helpful. I felt like I could talk to them about anything (in a safe space) and they never got frustrated with us. There were definitely some tough love moments, but it was always balanced with compassion and empathy. The course is REALLY HARD and will challenge you may be more than you expect, but it’s worth it! Manuel Antonio and Quepos are beautiful, you will have some time to do things you want to do and explore, if you keep up with your work, and the people of Costa Rica are beautiful and Pura Vida!!! I am so thankful and blessed to have been able to give myself this gift and I feel if you are looking for a program, this is it!

Is Maximo Nivel Legit Maximo Nivel TEFL review, submitted by Graham.

Is Maximo Nivel Legit? I couldn’t afford to take an in-class TEFL course, so I took it online instead.

I did initially have my sights set on taking the TEFL course on location and the in-class program offered through the Maximo Nivel company was on my shortlist of candidates. I really wanted to take the course in Cusco (Peru) but I had student debt to pay off and eventually, I came to the conclusion that it just wasn’t a viable option for me to pay for the airfare, the course fees, accommodation, and other living expenses. It just came out as costing way over the budget I had at the time.

As luck would have it though, I noticed that Maximo Nivel also ran an online program, so I signed up for that one instead. It was significantly lower in price doing it this way, rather than going the in-class route, and at the end of the course I received the TEFL certificate. So this is the option that I would recommend if you are considering TEFL and if you don’t have so much money to play around with.

As expected, the course was fully online. At first, I couldn’t understand how it could all be managed online. It was pretty straightforward. I had specific times when I would take my lessons with my (amazing) tutor and she guided me through the curriculum. I also got to teach a bunch of Zoom classes to online students too.

This online course was a way in which I could afford to get TEFL qualified and I recommend it to anyone who wants to take the certification affordably.
