I was feeling a bit conflicted about leaving a mediocre review for the Tefl Institute IE because their office staff was really lovely and although I had the feeling this is a fresh start-up, I wanted to help them with a push in the right direction.

The course was very underwhelming and I only learned the basics of Tefl teaching. I’m afraid this is in direct opposition to what is advertised on their school website.

They do offer some help with employment options overseas, but this materialized as just being given a list of school websites, of which some were not working.

I don’t feel hard done by, and I definitely don’t feel ripped off, but it just didn’t live up to the expectations promised.

I just wanted to let you know that the service provided, from registration to training was a very positive experience for me. Overall I loved the classes I took through TEFL Inst. Ireland. I never took remote training before but I will highly recommend this type of training. It felt relaxed and at a nice pace that I feel helped the learning process. All the instructors are kind and patient. They are very experienced in the fields they are teaching. It is often the case, I find, that people only take the time to send feedback or complete surveys if they have only negative things to say. Very satisfied. The course gave me a comprehensive overview of the resources required for TEFL, which is something I was completely unaware of before undertaking the course. It’s also accredited, so that was another big plus. I chose this particular course as a plan B really because my first choice had been The TEFL Academy but having read all the poor reviews I went with TEFL Institute of Ireland instead. Both are based out of the Republic of Ireland, which is where I hope to be teaching in 2025. This was my main reason for choosing a TEFL program based in Ireland. The studying aspect of the course was made interesting I thought by the inclusion of learner games, which helped make the course not seem like you were reading from a textbook. Helpful feedback was also provided and I had the impression that the school’s staff cared about their students’ development. I received the electronic certificate within a week of completing the course. I also think I read somewhere on the school’s website that they help with searching for TEFL work. I’ve already got my job confirmed. I’m just hoping this new variant doesn’t mess up those plans. I don’t normally write reviews but am happy to have written this one based on a very positive experience.

The course is engaging and immersive from start to finish and I would recommend it for people (like myself) who know (knew) little to nothing about TEFL teaching. Like all of these types of courses, the content begins quite basic and then ramps up as you progress through the different sections. I was required to apply the information learned to mock lesson plans, which is something I thoroughly enjoyed. I want to make it clear that this is a 100% online course, so no interactive class activities with students, and the mock lesson plans make the learning process more real because you can picture yourself teaching students with the lesson plans that you have created. I did have the option of taking a 4-week onsite TEFL program but I thought it unnecessary to lock up 4 weeks of my time and pay the exorbitant fees which are charged by in-person programs. The online TEFL program certificate is just as recognized as a traditional brick-and-mortar TEFL certificate and the tuition is much cheaper. I chose the 120-hour TEFL course as this is the number of hours requested by most of the jobs I saw advertised online. Overall, I thought the price/quality ratio was very good and the course content was easy to digest and well presented.

The overall course package could have been a lot better, in terms of the support and customer services provided, but regarding the actual course itself, I was mostly satisfied. It was simple to access the course each time I wanted to study and one of the benefits of taking the TEFL course online is how you can study at the times that you can/want. This self-paced element of online study was the most attractive argument vs. taking it in-person, on-site at some school buildings. The connection between the modules was also cohesive, meaning the course had a common thread running through it. I’m not convinced that any system, whether online or onsite, can teach you everything you must know about teaching English in just four weeks. I’m convinced that it is going to take at least six months of teaching before I’m nearer to becoming “mastered” in TEFL teaching, and even that is a generous timeline. What does help is the Teachers’ books which you can buy online. These contain complete lesson plans and give you step-by-step instructions as to how to present the class. I bought one of these Teachers’ books and use it when planning my online classes, even though the lesson plans are aimed at in-person classes.

TEFL Certification Online Ireland. I have taken online courses since the pandemic and I wanted to do a Tefl course to be able to teach and earn some extra cash online. I currently live in Dublin so I searched for TEFL courses in Dublin and Ireland in general. This program caught my eye and I enrolled and began it in December 2020. By the start of the new year I had finished it and a few weeks later I was teaching my first online class. what I liked about the course was the ease with which you could study. It was possible to do a bit, take a rest, and then return to the part where I last left off. Not having a regimented schedule to stick to make this course worth it for me. The main advantage, of course, is that the course is completely online and this made it possible to do the course when I was working at the same time. I’m still in the same job and am managing a few online classes around my work schedule. The classes that I teach are scheduled for the early morning with my students. They are in the Japan Standard Time time zone so it works conveniently for me. The course price wasn’t cheap, but I already paid back the course fee within the first month of my teaching. It was a great course and I do love teaching my students. 5 stars!

I wanted to take an ESL training course in Ireland. It should have been The TEFL Academy, but after reading so many bad reviews about that school, I chose to study instead with The Institute of Ireland. In the end, I think my choice was a wise one. I compared both websites and both schools offer an identical syllabus. The only real discernable difference was in the price. Institute of Ireland is marginally cheaper and you get the same certificate when you’ve completed the course. The people at Institute Ireland were lovely to me. when I failed a module, they let me take it again and identified for me where I had made the mistakes. There isn’t much of a learning curve with this TEFL course as it’s designed to begin easy and then progress in intensity. I also liked that there wasn’t one final big nail-biting exam at the end. When I had finished the course, they posted my certificate to me, and then I was ready to start looking for work. Online teaching was presented as one option, but I had my mind on teaching in the north of Spain. In Bilbao. One of my friends, Caitriona, taught there for a summer and she passed on some useful contacts for me, to get my foot in the door. Because Ireland is still a part of the European Union, it reduces the need to complete rolls of red tape and all I needed to do was get a job lined up and then wait until September when the news teaching semester starts there. The TEFL Institute of Ireland was a great school to take the ESL teaching qualification through and I shall recommend the school to others.

This is an excellent and highly informative course detailing what you need to learn to become an ESL teacher, with a well-structured and easy-to-follow study format. This was the first time I have taken any course online and despite my initial reservations, I found it enjoyable to study online. I could study when I had time and I wasn’t required to attend any classes in person. It had also been a long time since I’d even given grammar a thought and I was impressed with how the course taught the main grammar topics in understandable language. Before taking this course I had no idea what Present Perfect or a Third Conditional meant. I’m not saying that the course will teach you everything but they do seem to cover the most important ESL teaching knowledge. I also found it easy to get an ESL teaching job after the course. I thoroughly enjoyed my TEFL Ireland Institute course and thought it was well worth the time and money investment.

Teach English in Vietnam. I spent 1 amazing year teaching English in Hanoi, Vietnam.

When I turned 30 I decided to make a change in my life so I enrolled in the TEFL and chose to study for this qualification online. Online just made a lot more sense to me. I was still working full-time at the time and I just didn’t have the resources to take 4 weeks out to take one of the in-person TEFL certification courses. The TEFL Institute of Ireland turned out to be a solid choice. The school website is very easy to navigate and it was easy to enroll and begin the course. No fussing around with long application forms or anything like that. It took me 5 weeks to complete all the very interesting modules and then I received the certificate roughly a couple of weeks later. TEFL Institute of Ireland don’t offer job placement services abroad but they will help you with very useful information. They helped me to decide upon Vietnam as a potential teaching English destination and after a further couple of weeks of research, I decided that Vietnam was the country I would be choosing to travel to and teach in. I chose Hanoi because I read how overcrowded and congested HCMC is and that wasn’t what I signed up for. Hanoi on the other hand was way more chilled and I only had positive experiences when I lived there. I can’t recommend Hanoi enough. I was earning roughly 20 US an hour and this meant I lived a comfortable life there. A meal in a mom-and-pop restaurant is only a dollar or so, so you can understand why 20 US an hour is such great money over there. I would recommend the TEFL Institute of Ireland as a reliable school to take your TEFL through.

I have completed the 120-hour TESL course. I took it through the TEFL Institute of Ireland program. Because I live in Ireland, I wanted to take a locally run course in case I ran into any hurdles along the way. that way I would be able to make a phone call without having to pay international call charges. I guess if there were any serious problems, I could have just gone and visited their school office in person. Fortunately, I needed to do neither and I was left feeling satisfied after what turned out to be quite the intensive online TESL 4-week program. I’d never studied online before. So I wasn’t sure about taking such an important qualification online. You never know what you are going to get until you pay, right? Well, I read reviews and the course price wasn’t going to break the bank, so I enrolled in the course and the whole thing went as smoothly as silk. Really. All my worries were unfounded. They give you a login that you need to access the course and you keep using the same login every time you want to study more of your course. It took me a little longer than the 4 weeks to complete because I took a fortnight off to go traveling. If I hadn’t taken the time off and plowed through it in one go, it would have taken me the advertised 4 weeks. I’m teaching English to kids now (online). It can be a bit challenging with the technology sometimes, but it’s a great way to get your foot in the door. I’ll probably go abroad next year after I’ve completed my degree and when the world opens up again. 5 stars for this course!

Is The TEFL Institute of Ireland legit?

I had a smooth time studying the 120 TEFL course with the TEFL Institute of Ireland.

The course is divided into 10 presented modules with a test after each one. Not everyone feels so comfortable with one final exam and I liked this being graded as-you-go approach. Another good point about this program is that it was easy to navigate through the website. The website is fully responsive-meaning you can take it on pretty much any device. I switched between learning on my tablet and mobile and both devices provided an equally good way of studying. I didn’t find the course particularly difficult because I have taught before, but anyone taking the course without teaching experience should probably brush up on their grammar knowledge beforehand. Not that the grammar will be ridiculously difficult or anything like that, but some before-course study will most definitely help when trying to get your head around time tenses and other necessary grammar knowledge for teachers.

I never had any problems communicating with the school, which was a big plus. I do wish some of the feedback had been in more detail. Mostly though, the online tutor help was excellent and emails between myself and the school were without any major hiccups.

I would recommend this program to anyone wanting to teach English as a second language.

The course I finally chose to take was their 120-hour course, which is a distance learning course which means you don’t need to travel anywhere to take classes. The online platform was a bit basic but very easy to navigate. Learned a lot through this course. I thought I received great value for money for what I received.

I think it was overall a very positive experience. Took the 120-hour online course with the TEFL Institute of Ireland. At first, I was understandably nervous about taking a course online (never studied online before) but my concerns were soon alleviated when I got stuck into the studies and saw that it was set up in such a way that you feel guided. Other than one technical glitch (which was sorted for me quite quickly) I don’t have anything negative to say about this program. Looking forward to using the certificate in Asia and starting my adventure overseas!

The website offers too many TEFL course options. I mean does one need a 240-hour TEFL certificate? I don’t understand why they offer so many course options. A mate took their 120-hour TEFL course and I thought the 180-hour one would place me at an advantage. But when we compared the course materials, they appeared to us anyway as practically the same, with some stuffing added for the course I took. I’m not disputing the validity of this school. I just didn’t feel I received value for money. My mate who took the 120 hours was reasonably satisfied. We are both worried about the validity of the certification. My mate wet his feet by applying for a job overseas and the school had never heard of the Ireland TEFL Institute. It’s early days. Pray, I didn’t throw my money into a fictitious pot of gold at the end of some TEFL rainbow. They were for the large part nice people though at https://tefl.ie.
