Teach English in Spain. This program got me to where I had my heart set on teaching English.

I’m giving 4.5 stars out of the maximum of 5 for this (120-hour) online TEFL/TESOL course. I don’t usually write reviews, but this time I am because I was very satisfied with the purchase/outcome, and if I can also help someone else make the right decision then that’s my karma points total reached for this week

I don’t know if anyone else reading this also felt the same when they were deciding on which TEFL/TESOL course to take but there are SO MANY programs available online or in class, and it muddies the waters. It took me by surprise because I thought there would just be one organization offering different levels of certification. I counted over 100 of these schools offering the TEFL online, which is crazy! After I had narrowed down my search to a list of my top 10 candidates, I eventually settled on TEFL Online Pro. This was mainly because they offered the certification for a lower fee than a lot of others, but also because there were a lot of extras included (online tutor, international job guidance). They have good customer feedback too, so this was another reason.

I’ve read other TEFL Online Pro reviews and I don’t think I have anything really to add to what others have written. I also thought the communication response times were excellent, the course was great, no hidden fees, etc.

The reason for taking one of these courses though is to be able to use it afterward. It’s no use taking a course and then not being able to use the certificate. Sarah from the TEFL Online Pro office worked with me to help with information on teaching English in Spain. It’s where I’ve wanted to visit for a long time, so this was a golden opportunity to go there and stay for what has now been ten months so far. In the end, I settled on Barcelona. Why not? I interviewed online for a bunch of teaching positions and got accepted to one of the better language schools in the center of the city.

I couldn’t have accomplished all this without the help from TEFL Online Pro. And all this for $149!

While I was writing this review, I was trying to think of something negative I could write. One room for improvement would be the quiz questions in the first module. I understand the first module is an introduction to the course, but I think the questions should be more difficult. It lured me into a false sense of security that the rest of the course would be just as easy. Apart from this pretty minor point, everything was great. I couldn’t have asked for more.

The program met my expectations and needs. It was my second attempt at a TEFL course. The first time, I made a poor choice by going with a program that wasn’t accredited. I didn’t know this when I bought the course, but halfway through I dug deeper. This time around, I made sure to properly do my research before jumping in a second time. I chose to take the TEFL through the TEFL Online Pro program because they have won awards and because the course is fully accredited. I’ve read that you can still find work with a TEFL certificate from an unaccredited school, but I’d rather have the peace of mind of knowing that my TEFL certificate is accepted worldwide.

It took me approx. 3 weeks to complete the whole course. This consisted of 14 study modules and 2 lesson planning coursework assignments. What also impressed me with the course was the speedy feedback I had on my coursework assignments, and how detailed the feedback was. The course starts slow and easy and gradually builds in intensity, but it never becomes too difficult or demanding. I thought it struck a nice balance.

My course certificate was delivered to me within a week of passing and TEFL Online Pro also helped me with my job search for teaching English jobs online. I’m currently teaching at 2 separate online schools and looking forward to my trip overseas this fall, where I have a teaching English position confirmed at a language school in Valencia, Spain. I plan to teach there until next summer, spend the summer interrailing around Europe, and then head over to Japan for a further year of teaching.

Considering the price I paid for the course, the quality of the course and support, and factoring in how much I’ve benefited from having the TEFL certificate from this program, I have to give TEFL Online Pro a 100% rating. I was trying to think of something I wasn’t happy with about the program, but I really can’t think of anything. Can easily see why they have won so many awards. Thank you, TEFL Online Pro!

I truly enjoyed this program and the year I took abroad when I taught English in Valencia, Spain.

I remember some friends kind of raising an eyebrow when I mentioned I was taking the TEFL course online, but it totally worked out for me. It was so convenient studying online and the support was there if I needed to ask a question. The school which employed me didn’t bat an eyelid when I told them I’d done an online TEFL, so I really can’t see how it matters whether you take the TEFL online or in a class. If you take it online, you have a lot of flexibility and it’s way cheaper too

When I completed the course and was finally ready to move abroad the no-brainer option for me was Spain. I had always wanted to travel there and to be able to live and work there too was too good an opportunity to miss out on when I still had the chance to do so. So, I started interviewing for jobs in Madrid and Barcelona. There definitely wasn’t a shortage of work around and I soon had a few job offers under my belt. Then, I began reading more about Valencia (350 km south of Barcelona) and the city gradually began to win me over.

I highly recommend teaching English in Valencia.

It’s Spain’s third-largest city but has a smaller city vibe to it. It’s a beautiful city and easy to get around either on public transport or simply by walking. Crime also isn’t such an issue here as it can be in Madrid and Barcelona. The big draws for me though were the city beaches and the way you could easily meet (very friendly) people. I was teaching a 30-hour week and earning €20 per hour, so I managed to pay for everything I needed and still had money left over for trips out of the city each end of the month.

An excellent experience!

Review of the TEFL Training College Online TEFL certification program.

I did the 150-hour Course.

The Course was very user-friendly and I enjoyed working my way through the online units and completing the tests. There was a decent amount of support. I didn’t experience any issues with the Go TEFL website.

Job guidance was provided through the tefl solutions website, but for me, it wasn’t in-depth enough and this would be my only criticism of the Program

On the other hand, I am teaching now so it means the certificate is accepted here in Spain without problems.

A handy tip for anyone wanting to take a TEFL Course is not to make accreditation a priority. When I applied for this job, the school never asked whether TTC was accredited and I felt the TEFL certificate was just another document required for the process. It’s not as important as many schools make it out to be and essentially the main thing schools are looking for is whether you can teach and understand grammar.
