I have recently completed this certification training through the teflonlinepro.com website.

The 140-Hour Hybrid course was fantastic value for money.

• It was easy to enroll. After an exchange of emails, I decided on the 140 Hour because I wanted to teach practice hours shown on my certificate. Paying for the course took just a few minutes, with access to the course being granted a few minutes after that. I paid $499, which was way cheaper than comparable options I saw advertised online.
• Having the tutor support was very comforting, knowing I could ask a question and receive an almost instant reply at any time during the course. Sarah was my designated tutor and she was so helpful. I appreciated her feedback and advice.
• The course is divided into manageable modules. The content is presented in a fun learning format and with an emphasis on activities and real-life classroom adaptation of the materials. This was especially good because there is a lot of theory to get through and at the same time you get to learn it in the context of how it is taught effectively. I saved all of the activities for later use with my students.
• There are two lesson plans to complete during the theory section of the course. The feedback I received from both was extremely helpful and encouraging.
• I chose to teach my 20 lessons to online students and TEFL Online Pro helped me find my students. I taught 20×60 minute lessons. In total, I taught three separate students. It was great teaching the theory and activities in the course to my students in these classes. By the last few lessons, I felt confident enough to begin teaching students who pay for classes.
• As well as the TEFL/TESOL certificate, I received a letter of recommendation from TEFL Online Pro.
• I needed help finding teaching work online and asked Sarah for some help. she put me through to Paul, who advised me on how my teaching resume should work. He also gave me a list of their recommended online schools that were looking for teachers. I had three job offers just two weeks after asking for help.

I am a recent graduate of TEFL Online Pro’s Professional (120 hours) course online. My experience with this company was very positive and I would like to share my thoughts on the program.

I completed the course in May of this year. It took me three weeks to complete all 12 modules and the two bonus units. I studied a couple of hours a day on it during the weekdays and for 2.5 full weekends (I finished the course on a Saturday afternoon.) The course took just over 120 hours to complete and I was happy with what was advertised in terms of study hours and with what I received.

I chose to take the TEFL with this program because they won the Teachers’ Choice Award this year, and because their course had two bonus units. These were teaching Business English and teaching young/younger learners (children and teenagers.) I don’t necessarily plan on teaching children or teenagers, but it is always good to have a backup plan in case I need to in the future. Plus, they improve my resume content.

The 12 modules cover in depth the main TEFL syllabus that I have seen also listed on practically all other TEFL programs. I’m assuming that this is the standard international syllabus for TEFL. The modules are accessible through a login page on the TEFL Online Pro website, and the structure of the course is user-friendly and very well presented.

I have to agree with other reviewers of this program that the feedback on assignments and the general speed with which my emails were answered were excellent. When you pay for something online, you are never quite sure what you will receive. When I paid for the course, I immediately received an email from Paul Murphy. It was a personalized email. When I wrote back to ask a question about testing, he responded within an hour with a detailed response. This was the precedent for how communication was quickly responded to for the whole duration of the course.

My online tutor (Rosie) was just as quick with her replies. And just as helpful in her responses.

Within two days of completing the course, I received a letter of recommendation and my course certificate from the TEFL Online Pro office. I also received access to their international job support team. Again, the communication here was excellent.

I paid a total of $299 US for the course, which included the online tutor support, the reference letter and course certificate, and the job support.

I wanted to teach online. I asked their support for help, and they delivered. A week later, I was interviewing for jobs. Two weeks after that, I had a full-time teaching position.

I really couldn’t have asked for any more. Especially given that the course is a fraction of the price of some other programs I saw advertised which don’t seem to have so many varied services for students.

The only negative of the course, for me at least, was that I wasn’t able to download the modules for later use. Instead, I was instructed to make screenshots of the activities that I wanted to save for my records. The reason for this might be because of copyright issues. Still, it would have been nice to be able to create a binder of the course that I could then use as a library resource.

I recommend this program for the quality of the course, office feedback, and end-of-course job support services.

I ended up losing my job so had to quickly rethink what the hell I was going to do in terms of a steady income. A friend read an article about teaching English online and I was immediately all over it. What surprised me about TEFL was just how many different companies offer this certification. I didn’t have so much time to dig deep into what each was offering and I chose to enroll in the TEFL Online Pro 120hr course mainly because they have consistently positive feedback across the board. Also what you get for the course price was a better value compared with some of the other courses I looked at.

I’m so happy that I chose this program! From the moment I paid I had the support of an online tutor and with me never having studied TEFL before he was incredibly helpful and supportive. I’d message my tutor and he would respond within a few hours. Now that’s what I call great customer service.

The course is divided into 14 sections and each covers a different area of TEFL. I particularly found the chapters on grammar and phonetics interesting because these were areas where I needed the training the most. The lesson plan assignments were also so helpful because they created a context for the information taught in the course and with the super helpful feedback that I received after submitting them I came out at the other end of the course knowing how to develop lesson plans and what content is required for each student level. Oh, and the activities in the course were really fun and showed me that teaching can be a fun learning and fun teaching experience.

They issued my certificate the next day after I had completed the course and they also wrote me a pretty amazing letter of recommendation. Both the certificate and the letter were critical documents when I began the job interview process. It took a week for me to have my first firm job offer and another two came my way another week after that. The whole process of taking the course to teach English online start took three weeks. A week after that I was teaching full-time.

TEFL Online Pro was exceptional and this TEFL online certification has been so incredibly useful. I recommend this company to anyone starting in TEFL. 10 out of 10 for TEFL Online Pro.

My ESLinsider TEFL certificate wasn’t accepted for my work permit.

I got scammed by Ian Leahy from ESLinsider, and looking back, I really should have noticed all of the obvious red flags.

I first got to hear of Ian Leahy’s TEFL program from one of his posts in Quora. He came over as being very knowledgeable, and I liked how he was prepared to go out of his way to shine a light on some of the dodgy TEFL courses out there. After a couple of emails back and forth, I enrolled in his TEFL (TEKA) course. The course payment was arranged by wiring the money to his bank account. Ok, a little strange, but this was a reliable person, who seemed completely legit.

The course was OK. It wasn’t worth the 300 bucks I paid, but it did cover a lot of the basics for teaching kids. Despite the not-that-great video quality, and having to manually email Ian my course assignments, I managed to see the course through to the end and I received my TEFL certificate.

I must write that Ian was helpful throughout the course and came over as being professional.

The problems began when I started applying for jobs.

Despite assuring me that he would help me find a job, Ian stopped returning my emails as soon as my course was complete. So the first lie was that he provides job support. He doesn’t.

I eventually landed a job with a school based in Shanghai, China. Because of the COVID restrictions on traveling at the time, all my paperwork went through the Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C. The plan was to get all my ducks in a row before the new year, and then I would travel over to China to begin teaching after the Chinese New Year.

It shook me when I received the news that my application had been declined.

I went through all my paperwork. Everything was in order.

When I checked with the embassy, they informed me that my work permit was declined because my ESLinsider TEFL certificate wasn’t accepted.

So now I am back to square 1 and need to take another TEFL course, but this time one that WILL be recognized. I decided on the TEFL Online Pro program and checked with the embassy and my school if this one would be recognized, they gave it the thumbs up, and now I’m back on course for an early March start to begin my teaching job. So far, the TEFL Online Pro program is excellent.

I wrote to Ian Leahy, asking for a partial refund of my money, but he didn’t respond.

ESLinsider’s TEFL online is a course that you should avoid at all costs. There is no reason for taking it if you can’t use the certificate.

So many TEFL courses out there! It was a small nightmare trying to choose which one to take. In the end, I narrowed my list down to just two: MyTEFL and TEFL Online Pro. I ended up choosing MyTEFL simply because they were offering me a 50% course discount, because of my recent college graduate status.

To begin with, MyTEFL was very responsive to emails and the telephone call I made to their Vancouver office. They explained everything very clearly, confirming everything written on their website; that the course is exceptional, that there is amazing support throughout the course, that they go out of their way to help with job hunting, etc. I was initially impressed! But then reality hit.

The quick, helpful responses abruptly stopped at the moment of purchasing the (120-hour) MyTEFL course. It was in stark contrast to before I signed up. No matter how many emails I sent, asking valid questions about the course system, I never got a reply back. And yes, I did check my Junk/Spam. I then decided to call them, like when I had, before I paid for the course, and they just brushed me off with a short reply to my question which didn’t help me at all.

In total, I completed just over half the course. Within that time, I received no feedback on any of my work. It felt like I was studying blind. The 6 or so modules which I did complete, I completed in just a few days. It was ridiculously easy. Read a boring text. Answer some multiple-choice questions. Repeat.

The thing is, I didn’t just take the course to get a certificate. I chose MyTEFL because of what student blogs wrote about the course; it educates you in TEFL to a top level. It doesn’t, and I question the authenticity of those MyTEFL student blogs.

After I had finished the sixth module, and when I read through the 7th and saw a few glaring grammar and spelling mistakes in the text, I contacted MyTEFL for a refund. I was still within the window to able to qualify for a discount, based on their course purchase Terms and Conditions.

MyTEFL wrote back that I wouldn’t qualify for a refund, and I never got a further reply back. I had to contact my bank to ask them to get my money back for me. Last Thursday, my bank informed me that they would be able to claw back the money for me, so I now feel comfortable leaving this MyTEFL review.

The first thing I did was enroll in the TEFL Online Pro (120 hours) TEFL course; something I should have done at the start. It’s been almost a week now and the difference between MyTEFL and TEFL Online Pro is like night and day.

I don’t feel like I’m studying blind now. When I purchased the TEFL Online Pro course, I received a welcome email from my tutor (Paul) and when I send a message to him, I got a message back almost instantly. The course is way better designed too, and without any grammar or spelling mistakes. The difference in price is only about $50, so I recommend TEFL Online Pro as the far better choice.

Despite the rocky start with MyTEFL, I’m now looking forward to completing my TEFL Online Pro course and I’m looking forward to teaching English online with the certification. I’ve read great things about teaching English online and this comes at the perfect time for me to start doing it.

I took the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course.

Excellent! Practical and well-structured. Overall a great experience. I recommend TEFL Online Pro to take your 120-hour TEFL course. It comes with an online tutor and international job support as well and there weren’t any extras to pay at the end. So no extra charges hiding at completion. It was great value and the feedback and support I got from Paul and his team were much more informative than I was expecting for a course at this price point.

I had planned to go abroad and teach but when the pandemic struck I suddenly found myself with severely limited options and that’s when I decided to teach English online. I contacted Paul and he then connected me with Sue, who seems to be the main person behind the international job guidance team. Sue was very professional and super helpful. She gave me a list of vetted online language schools that were hiring at the time, and she also spent time with me working on my resume and interview techniques. It was the first time I had interviewed online so she arranged a Skype call with me to go over the techniques face-to-face, which worked well for me and clarified a few of the recurring questions I had about how the teaching works via online interaction only. It took a couple of weeks before I had my first firm job offer and I haven’t looked back since.

Some day I will probably move abroad to teach but for the time being, I am still satisfied with online teaching.

I have had a wonderful experience with TEFL training with TEFL Online Pro.

I enrolled in the course on December 20 and had everything sewn up by the start of the new year. I know there is an international pandemic going on, but I didn’t want that to stop the plans I made for myself in 19: to go and live and work in Thailand. Throughout the jobs assistance part of the after-course service I was in touch with Paul Murphy. He has been excellent throughout. Paul passed on all the information he knew about traveling to Thailand under Covid and then it was up to me to contact my home country’s embassy to check and see if I could make it over there.

Normally, before Covid, you just had to turn up and apply for a job when you were there. Since Covid, Thailand now expects you to have all your paperwork wrapped up BEFORE you travel. I’m sure this will revert once Covid is over, but for the time being this is how the Thais have it arranged.

Among the documents I needed was a notarized copy of my TEFL Online Pro TEFL/TESOL certificate and this was also possible to arrange via Paul Murphy and the embassy. I thought it was a nice touch that TEFL Online Pro didn’t charge me extra for this extra service.

I’ve been teaching in Krabi Town now for just over a month and I LOVE IT!!!

It is SO beautiful here and my students are SO lovely. Plus the food is amazing and people, in general, are very friendly and hospitable. I work 20 hours per week and I earn 42,000 Baht per month. That’s a very good salary. It’s enough for me because my rent is only 8,000 Baht a month! A meal in my favorite local restaurant sets me back at just $2. I love how affordable it is here.

If you plan on teaching abroad and you are unsure of which TEFL company to train with I’d recommend looking into the TEFL Online Pro course. They are accredited too, so you don’t need to worry whether the certificate will be accepted or not.

Top marks for the course and the support, but not such great marks for the current government restrictions of getting over to Thailand. Still, it has been worth all the red tape to get here and I have TEFL Online Pro to thank for that!

Having recently completed the TEFL Online Pro 120-Hour Online TEFL, I can confirm for anyone reading this that this is a top-notch program. It’s obvious to me why they have won the Teachers’ Choice Award for the past two years.

Compared to similar programs offering the 120-hour TEFL course online, TEFL Online Pro is priced mid-market I would say. This isn’t one of your crazy cheap TEFL courses but also isn’t crazy expensive either. Plus, you do get a lot for the $299 price tag, and they don’t try to either up-sell you or nickel and dime you; meaning no difficult conversations by the end of the course

For the $299 I paid, I received full access to the course and I had my tutor who was available throughout the whole time that I studied. The course also includes international job guidance services and of course international certification. They also issued me with a great-looking letter of recommendation, which I have already made good use of.

For the past two months, since completing the course, I’ve been teaching online. It’s not something I plan on doing long-term, but it will do for the time being. I’ve been liaising with Paul from the TEFL Online Pro office to help find me teaching work in South Korea, and he has been as helpful and quick with replies as my tutor (Claire) was when I was studying for the TEFL certification. I’ve already sent off all my documents and now I’m just waiting for the paperwork to be completed then I’ll be traveling to Seoul to begin a new chapter in my life. I’ve been told that it can take anywhere up to four months for the paperwork to go through, so I’m just waiting on the employment agency in Seoul now. The good news is that last week I received the all-clear on the documents that I submitted to them and the school confirmed for me that I will be on a slightly higher starting salary because of my TEFL experience.

TEFL Online Pro has completely delivered everything they promised and I am truly pleased that I chose to do my international TEFL certification through their program. Top marks to them and a solid recommendation from me.

This online TEFL course was on promotion on Groupon, and the heavy discount was seriously enticing. Only $19 for a distance learning TEFL course! What did I have to lose? I grabbed the deal!

It was when I opened the first module that I knew that there was a reason why the course was only $19.

Each of the modules contain about a page of text, followed by quiz questions that were an insult to my intelligence. They were just ridiculous.

Still, I soldiered on and completed the course in 2 days. If you do decide to pay the $19 for this course, just skim the reading and take the quizzes. There really isn’t much value anyway in the texts.

I then printed out the certificate, which looked like a template you would find if you Googled a TEFL certificate template. It just didn’t look believable at all.

I again soldiered on and started the process of job hunting.

I began a conversation with a school based in Chengdu, China, which was looking for a native speaker from the US or Canada, to teach in an international school – teaching kindergarten kids and teenagers.

The pay was very good and there were other perks, such as free airfare, subsidized accommodation, an end-of-year bonus, and so on.

A college degree and international TEFL certificate, as well as a clean criminal background, were the main requirements for the job. Tick, tick, tick! I forwarded copies of the documents to the school.

And, my application was rejected. All on the basis that my International Open Academy TEFL certificate wasn’t accepted. I asked why. The school replied that it’s not on the official list of recognized TEFL programs.

So, I asked for the list. The school obliged and I couldn’t see International Open Academy (IOA) anywhere on that list.

What could I do? I had to write off the $19 I’d spent on the cheap TEFL course with IOA and chose a different school, from the official list.

I took the course with Tefl Online Pro, it was obviously a much more in-depth course, and it took me 2 weeks to complete. I worked on it 6 days a week.

I then went through the process of resubmitting my documents to the school.

And, I got accepted!

The one big take from this whole experience is not to be fooled by a really cheap TEFL course.

I’m a little older than I imagine than the age of your typical TEFL student. At the grand age of 35, I decided that I wasn’t that content in my 9/5 job and I began searching for something which would jump-start my journey into a new career field. After reading an article about earning money online, I began reading up on teaching English online. It seemed to be the perfect fit: teaching wherever I had an internet connection and working independently. Further reading and searching led me to the TEFL Online Pro international program. I had many questions before I enrolled in the course – all were answered efficiently and quickly. This gave me the confidence that this was the right program for me, so I enrolled and began the 120-hour Professional course.

I must admit that I wasn’t very impressed with the first module. It was too easy and left me wondering whether I had made the right choice or not with this program. This is the only reason why I’m not giving the program the top marks of 5 stars. I did write to my online tutor about it and he wrote back that the reason for this is so that students have a soft start to the course, instead of diving straight into the deep end, but I still think there could be a lot of improvement in the first module.

The remaining 11 modules and 2 bonus units were extraordinarily good, and this is why I am giving this program an overall mark of 4.8 stars.

The customer service was excellent. When I had a question (and I had many during the course) I always got a reply back in no more than a few hours. Most of the time a reply was instant. Not an automated reply either. The feedback from Paul was at a high level and I want to write Thank You to Paul for his support throughout the course.

The course is full of quality content. I was surprised at how much content there was, and I was very impressed with how it was presented. The course is a responsive design, so it meant I was able to complete my work either on my notebook, tablet, or mobile – depending on whether I was at home or on the go. One of the features which I liked was that I could work both online and offline.

The course taught me a lot. Much more than I thought was possible for a course of this length. After receiving my TEFL/TESOL certificate and a beautifully written letter of recommendation, I received help with my online search for teaching work.

I began teaching English online, for a company based out in Japan, the same week I received my TEFL/TESOL certificate. Job done!

I want to thank TEFL Online Pro for making everything work out for me. I’m so happy with my choice and after reading reviews of some other programs, I know I made the right decision.

All they need to do is tweak that first module and then it’s a faultless course.

I am a graduate of the TEFL Online Pro 120-hour TESOL certificate course; taken in November of last year.

As with others who have expressed their feedback, I also decided on this program because of its high ranking and positive student feedback. Also, the course fee seemed good value when you account for everything that is included as part of the course package.

I should add a bit about my history here. I taught High School English and Spanish for many, many years and despite loving my vocation, at the grand age of 40, I felt that it was time to branch out in a different career path – one that would (preferably) allow me to utilize my skills and at the same time allow me the freedom and independence to travel the world and earn money whilst doing so. I know, a tall order

I stumbled upon the possibilities of TEFL (as most others likely do too) when I was searching online for ways to travel and work, and TEFL seemed like a perfect fit. I’m not a spring chick anymore, and I do realize that most people taking these courses are in their twenties or thirties, but I read on and my hopes were raised when I read that you can teach TEFL into your sixties! And some teachers are even teaching in their late seventies!

So, to cut a potentially long-winded story short ( ) I enrolled in the TEFL Online Pro certification course.

The course content and general support: are EXCELLENT!

Despite having taught English for a good 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised by how deep the content goes and how much it covers. Plus, it is presented in a lovely, user-friendly format. I could study on my tablet or laptop – something which I did interchangeably, depending on whether I was at home or out somewhere at the time.

I’m not sure whether this is how all of these TEFL schools operate, but TEFL Online Pro was always available – often at very short notice – when I needed a question answered. I don’t think I have ever experienced such a high turnaround of questions asked and answers given before.

Towards the end of the study, I was getting a little nervous because, during the taking of the course, I also signed up for a couple of TEFL forums, where some people were complaining of steep charges being applied at the end of their courses for arbitrary certification and job support service fees. Thankfully this wasn’t my experience with the TEFL Online Pro program. After I had completed the final two units, they sent me a congratulatory email, requested that I confirm the full name for my documentation, and issued my documentation (letter of reference and TEFL certificate) on the same day and with no requests for further payment. Wow!

TEFL Online Pro runs a graduate job support service (also included within the course fee) so I took them up on this and without them, I would have been completely at sea. And, because of this support, I was on a plane a couple of weeks later to travel to my teaching post in HCMC, Vietnam.

I have been teaching in the same position since (there was a slight blimp because of COVID, but only for a month) and I think I’ll stay here. I love the culture, the living costs are very reasonable, Vietnam is located in a region where it is easy to get to and from, and… I love my job!

All in all, this was, has been, and is still a great choice of career path.

Teach English online through the tefl online pro TESOL program.

I highly recommend this course (120-Hour Professional) for anyone who wants to take an international TEFL/TESOL course with awesome tutor feedback and awesome job finding support. For what you pay, I think it would be hard to beat going through another program. I paid $299 in total and for this, I had access to the course, my very own personal tutor (who always responded quickly), and the international TEFL/TESOL certificate. And, they helped me find my footing in teaching English online. All this for $299! Worth it!

The signup process is really easy and the course was intense, but not too much. I felt it met the right balance between methodology and activities. I particularly valued the lesson plan assignments (and the excellent feedback on them) because this elevated the online section to real-world examples. It was super easy to find work. tefl online pro provides you with a long list of schools hiring at the time so you don’t have to waste a load of time wading through the many online schools to see whether they are hiring, or whether they just want you to complete a load of paperwork so they can have you on their books for possibly later work positions. I completed the course on a Friday afternoon, I received my certificate the following Tuesday, and by the Friday of that week, I had interviewed at 2 schools and was accepted to both.

I had a friend who took her online TEFL through one of those cheap Groupon deals. At first, it seemed too good to be true. It was. They nickel and dimed her like hell, until by the time she’d paid (!!!) for her certificate she’d spent over $500! With tefl online pro, the price of the course is what you pay and nothing more. Very professional and honest. I’m just so happy that I took my TEFL with this company!
