I am a recent graduate of TEFL Online Pro’s Professional (120 hours) course online. My experience with this company was very positive and I would like to share my thoughts on the program.

I completed the course in May of this year. It took me three weeks to complete all 12 modules and the two bonus units. I studied a couple of hours a day on it during the weekdays and for 2.5 full weekends (I finished the course on a Saturday afternoon.) The course took just over 120 hours to complete and I was happy with what was advertised in terms of study hours and with what I received.

I chose to take the TEFL with this program because they won the Teachers’ Choice Award this year, and because their course had two bonus units. These were teaching Business English and teaching young/younger learners (children and teenagers.) I don’t necessarily plan on teaching children or teenagers, but it is always good to have a backup plan in case I need to in the future. Plus, they improve my resume content.

The 12 modules cover in depth the main TEFL syllabus that I have seen also listed on practically all other TEFL programs. I’m assuming that this is the standard international syllabus for TEFL. The modules are accessible through a login page on the TEFL Online Pro website, and the structure of the course is user-friendly and very well presented.

I have to agree with other reviewers of this program that the feedback on assignments and the general speed with which my emails were answered were excellent. When you pay for something online, you are never quite sure what you will receive. When I paid for the course, I immediately received an email from Paul Murphy. It was a personalized email. When I wrote back to ask a question about testing, he responded within an hour with a detailed response. This was the precedent for how communication was quickly responded to for the whole duration of the course.

My online tutor (Rosie) was just as quick with her replies. And just as helpful in her responses.

Within two days of completing the course, I received a letter of recommendation and my course certificate from the TEFL Online Pro office. I also received access to their international job support team. Again, the communication here was excellent.

I paid a total of $299 US for the course, which included the online tutor support, the reference letter and course certificate, and the job support.

I wanted to teach online. I asked their support for help, and they delivered. A week later, I was interviewing for jobs. Two weeks after that, I had a full-time teaching position.

I really couldn’t have asked for any more. Especially given that the course is a fraction of the price of some other programs I saw advertised which don’t seem to have so many varied services for students.

The only negative of the course, for me at least, was that I wasn’t able to download the modules for later use. Instead, I was instructed to make screenshots of the activities that I wanted to save for my records. The reason for this might be because of copyright issues. Still, it would have been nice to be able to create a binder of the course that I could then use as a library resource.

I recommend this program for the quality of the course, office feedback, and end-of-course job support services.

I obtained my TEFL certificate from TEFL Online Pro. I enrolled in the Fast Track 60-Hour International Online TEFL Certification Course. I was very impressed by the content of the course. I have been an ESL teacher for more than 6 years already. My previous teaching positions did not require the TEFL certificate but recently I have changed positions to a school that has the requirement. I chose TEFL Online Pro because they won the 2020 Teacher’s Choice Award. This award is well deserved. The content covered in the Fast Track course was thorough and impressive. I like their streamlined approach to lesson plans. For years I have spent a lot of time creating elaborate lesson plans when it wasn’t necessary. Using their PPP style method, it gets directly to what is important. It is clear and concise, allowing me to focus on the information I want to communicate to my students. Part of the course is to create two specific lesson plans. This was a great exercise to try the new PPP method and get some feedback for improvement. As a teacher, it is very important to have a clear learning objective for students. One of the modules focused on tools and techniques for giving effective classes, offering a wealth of resources for teachers to refer to. There is a great section on how to handle unexpected situations in the classroom. This section gives thought-provoking options for handling various types of situations that, trust me, will arise. It’s great to have these pre-thought-out responses available in my toolbox. Even though I have been a teacher for a few years, I still learned some new and improved techniques for giving corrections and feedback in a more positive manner. TEFL Online Pro offered very specific suggestions including body language. This was important to me because I believe that instilling confidence in my students is key to keeping them interested in the learning process. Additionally, reviewing the grammar related to verbs was essential. It has been a few years since I have sat on the other side of the desk as a student. As grammar and language evolve, it was nice to have this refresher course. The content and examples given were very clear. I also enjoyed reviewing the module on International testing systems. I have many students preparing to work or study in English-speaking countries. The information included in this section will help me better prepare these students for future endeavors. Understanding the types and formats of these exams is essential to this process. The course also includes other important topics such as the Phonetic Alphabet and voiced/voiceless pronunciation. These are key elements in effective teaching. There is also a module guiding current or prospective teachers on locations to consider when applying for teaching jobs. Included in this module were excellent tips for writing your CV/Resume and interview techniques. I have already recommended TEFL Online Pro to several colleagues who do not have their TEFL certificates. The course teacher support is incredible! My course teacher was very responsive and offered helpful suggestions. If you need a TEFL certificate… TEFL Online Pro!!

I recently completed the Professional TESOL certification course through Tefl Online Pro and I recommend this program to anyone wanting to get TESOL/TEFL certified.

Compared to a lot of the other TESOL/TEFL programs offering the 120-hour course I thought Tefl Online Pro offered the best value for money. I enrolled in March, just when the pandemic was picking up, and completed the course two weeks later. I’m not certain whether it usually takes the average person two weeks to complete, but I did it this time by studying in the evenings and working through the (two) weekends. A special mention has to go to Paul Murphy, the Tefl Online Pro Operations Manager because he was outstanding with his replies. He was so quick getting back to me and so helpful! I felt in good hands on this Tefl Online Pro course program and Paul was just exceptional.

It was also very convenient to take the entire course online.

When you sign up, Tefl Online Pro email you your password and username to type into the website and start your course. I think it took a couple of minutes only to receive this information after paying for the course. The subject material does get pretty intense at times, especially in the grammar and phonetics modules, but overall I didn’t feel that I was becoming unnecessarily overwhelmed by the content. It’s not an easy course, but it’s certainly manageable. I went into the course without any previous teaching English knowledge or experience and I passed with a 92% total grade. So don’t worry if you haven’t studied TESOL/TEFL before. They explain everything very clearly and when you do get a bit unstuck you have the online tutor help option with fast response times.

I will want to teach overseas but because of Covid, I’m teaching online until the world starts opening up again. I currently teach 18 hours per week and earn an average of $28 US per hour. I’m pretty satisfied with this arrangement for the time being.

The Tefl Online Pro Professional course was an excellent experience and I highly recommend this program.
