120-Hour Professional course review.
I took the course in November (2024) and I have been teaching abroad since January 2025.
My reason for teaching in Vietnam was the healthy ratio between the salary and the cost of living.
My reason for choosing TEFL Online Pro was the positive reviews.
PROS
The 24-hour instructor support was great. I never had to wait long for a reply. Individual assessments provided on my progress were reassuring and supportive.
The price of the course was a bargain for what I received. Included with the course: 24-hour support, letter of recommendation, TEFL/TESOL certificate, job and visa support. I got my job because of this course.
There were many activities and games that I am still using. Even though it was distance learning, I looked forward to revisiting from where I last left of. It was a fun course to take.
The study when you want approach meant I could start and stop when it suited me. There wasn’t a specified time when I had to complete a module or coursework assignment. It was very flexible.
CONS
The grammar sections can become a bit numbing. I don’t think this is specific to TEFL Online Pro because you have to learn the grammar if you want to teach it. Grammar isn’t my jam, but essential. The activities, games and videos did help to make learning it more fun.
I can’t compare TEFL courses because this was the only one I took. If all the others are like this one, I recommend online over in-person TEFL course study.
