It was a positive experience. I could work at my own pace. The TEFL Academy accommodated me perfectly. Information provided in each unit is practical, useful, and accurate. My assignments were marked quickly with excellent feedback given so I could then improve on my next assignment. The instructions were clear and guidance was always offered. I do wish that more examples were given and shorter assignments instead of three long assignments. Overall, though, I thoroughly enjoyed the TEFL Course and I would definitely recommend it!

I enrolled in The TEFL Academy’s course after watching a glowing YouTube review by Caitriona McTiernan. Her testimonial seemed authentic and persuasive, which heavily influenced my decision to go with this provider. However, I later discovered that Caitriona is actually employed by The TEFL Academy—something that was not disclosed in the video. This lack of transparency felt deeply misleading and, in my view, crosses the line into deceptive marketing.
The course itself was underwhelming. While the content was passable, it felt generic and outdated. There was minimal real engagement, and the support was lackluster at best. I didn’t feel adequately prepared to teach English professionally upon completion. It became increasingly clear to me that The TEFL Academy prioritizes sales over student success.
Feeling duped, I contacted my bank to dispute the charges and explained the situation. Thankfully, they sided with me and refunded my course fee. I consider myself lucky in that respect, but others might not be as fortunate.
After more careful research, I chose to enroll in a course with TEFL Online Pro (teflonlinepro.com). The difference was night and day. Their support was prompt and personalized, and the course materials were clearly designed with real-world application in mind. I’m now teaching Business English in Madrid, Spain, and feel confident and well-equipped in my role—thanks entirely to the superior training and guidance I received from TEFL Online Pro.
In conclusion, I would strongly caution anyone considering The TEFL Academy to look elsewhere. Their marketing practices are misleading, and the course does not deliver the value it promises. Do your research and choose a provider that puts your success first.
