I completed the 150-hour course online with 20 practicum training hours (also online) in August. As a native speaker, I still found some sections difficult; notably the grammar sections. I’m convinced this is because no one taught me grammar when I was a kid at school. I can’t understand why they don’t teach grammar in schools. For this reason, I think non-native speakers will have an easier time taking a TEFL certification course. CIEE TEFL is one of the 5 best-recommended companies to TEFL train with and I could tell it was an excellent program because of the way everything was so well organized and because of how attentive the tutors were. I did pass the course (distinction) and I’ve been teaching English online ever since. Five stars!
